We're really lucky this is our second visit, we went first for our anniversary a few years back and had such a brilliant experience we couldn't wait to go back. The entire team at Whatley are amazing, the kitchen team get most of the credit for their well-deserved Michelin Star, and the food is incredible. But it's the entire team that makes the experience, the levels of customer service are second to none, in all the small details and big gestures. The Operations Manager, Emilio (sorry if i've spelt that incorrectly) overheard us raise a small issue during check-in due to my wife's health, went to the spa and arranged an alternative, came back and found us later in the afternoon and told us what he'd done for us. That type of detail often goes unnoticed, but that alone made our entire experience. She's been through huge health issues, so whilst that's a small gesture to the team - it's the first time in over 6 months my wife's been able to feel human again! Aside from that, all the little details are so on point, you go for breakfast and the cleaners seem to magically appear and clean your room to save inconvenience. You go to the spa, and everyone has a chilled out ambience that just makes you feel welcome. You go to the restaurant, and all of the service team know every detail about every speck of food on your plate, the wine list, the drinks. Their mannerism and service levels are so amazing. Even the front of house team and what I think are still called "bell boys" - the first people you meet really set the tone, they can't help you enough - i was annoying and brought my bike, so they found a safe place to store it, brought it to me every day i wanted to go out, carried our luggage and generally just made conversation. Our room was amazing, our experience was amazing, the entire team are first class and deserve every penny of their tips!
