Camp Sabali & Safaris

Camp Sabali is a relatively new camp located just 1 km from Mfuwe. It is in the bush so it feels really remote and wild although it is close to everything. The bar/restaurant area and chalets are really beautiful and do have a very personal touch. It is a small camp with 6 chalets only so it feels very personal and staff makes you feel more than just a guest. The food preparation and quality is amazing. Most of their staff are locals and some are new in this business. They are highly motivated super friendly. The chalets are very beautiful and have a charming design. Beds are super comfortable. The turn down service works great, so when you come back from the sunset drive beds and Moskito nets are prepared for the night. The guides are really knowledgeable and motivated. Sometimes the pace is high, but that is because there is just so much to see in South Luangwa and there are a lot of great sightings. Guides are willing to extend game drives past the usual times of there are good sightings. They have a great timing and we were often the first or last car on sightings to avoid busy periods. Also they were always ready to drive us to the village center during the afternoon break. Being a new camp it will be further improved in future, for example they are planning building a small pool for next season. Thanks Leon and your team for the great stay and hospitality.

Camp Sabali is highly recommended! Leon and staff are wonderful. Delicious food (eggs benedict on point, thanks Mary), great guides (Isaac!), great service (Elvis!). Wonderful local gin. Tents are beyond excellent. Book now for an unforgettable experience. I woke up to 4 huge elephants lunching around our tent. Truly the trip of a lifetime. South Luangwa also has excellent wildlife, esp leopards. We also saw wild dogs and the big 4.

I just came back from a solo trip to South Luangwa, and staying at Camp Sabali was the best decision I made. From the moment I arrived, I felt calm and looked after. The camp is peaceful and beautifully tucked away, perfect for resting and recharging. Leon is a wonderful host! warm, welcoming, and attentive. The food was fresh, tasty, and always made with care. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the outdoor showers were honestly one of my favourite things. There’s nothing like showering under the open sky after a day in the bush. The game drives were equally unforgettable. Isaac, our guide, was brilliant! he is so knowledgeable, calm, and clearly passionate about the wildlife. One of the best game drives I have been on in a while. Camp Sabali is a special place. If you’re thinking about going, don’t hesitate. I loved my stay and already want to go back.

We had such a wonderful staying at Camp Sabali. The staff went over and above to ensure that we were well looked after. The rooms were pristine and very comfortable. We really enjoyed being able to hear all the animals at night! The food was absolutely delicious and I really appreciated the effort that was made to cater for me as a vegan. We were fortunate enough to see leopards, lions, wild dogs, hyenas to name a few. South Luangwa is such a beautiful place and we felt very lucky to stay at Camp Sabali.

We want to thank Leon and he's amazing team for an unforgetable stay in may 2025. Tents were unique located and the aesthetics of the rooms was very nice and every small detail has been thought of. Food was amazing as well, everything was homemade.
