Arcanus Hotels Sorgun - Ultra All Inclusive

I have a very mixed review of this hotel. Some aspects are absolutely amazing, while others are definitely not five-star quality. I’m not a fussy person at all, and we’ve stayed in many places—from B&Bs to five-star hotels—but this hotel is quite confusing. It was our first time in Turkey, and it certainly won’t be our last, but next time we’ll be a bit more selective. Pros The outdoor areas and views are absolutely stunning! The location of this hotel is incredibly beautiful. The pictures in all the brochures are exactly how it looks in real life. The rooms are lovely, and the shower is amazing. Rooms were cleaned every day, and the corridors were spotless. The staff are friendly. We had the opportunity to enjoy the Hammam bath experience with a massage, which was amazing—definitely do this if you visit! The Bistro and Beach Bar were a godsend for the kids—very tasty food, and the staff there were very attentive. Now the Cons The first thing you notice when you walk into reception is the strong smell of smoke. It’s really overpowering. We’re not generally bothered by this—each to their own—but it leaves a terrible first impression. Also, there’s a lot of seating in the reception area, making it very loud and not relaxing at all. You can smell smoke throughout the hotel. We put it down to just not being used to it anymore. Even though we loved every minute of the spa experience, it didn’t feel five-star. The staff were great, but the facilities were not. The entrance to the indoor pool goes through the spa, and it’s very noisy, which takes away from the relaxing atmosphere. At the end, we were told to wash off the mud mask in the changing room—my husband had kids in there, and I had a staff member eating lunch with no mirror to clean off properly. Not ideal. The outdoor pool is not heated and was absolutely freezing! If you’re into cold water swimming, great—but otherwise, it’s too cold to enjoy. Now for the food and restaurants: I usually eat everything, but even though there’s a lot of choice, the quality isn’t great. The main dining area is extremely noisy—so much so that my ears hurt. There were no waiters, just staff clearing tables. In a five-star hotel, I’d expect drink service and a smile at the very least. Also, many guests were incredibly rude. I know us Brits love our manners (well, most of us), but other nationalities seemed to lack basic courtesy. I know that’s not the hotel’s fault, but it made the experience less enjoyable. There are several à la carte restaurants: the open ones were Far East, Italian, and Mexican. You get to try one for free, and the rest can be booked at Guest Relations in reception, though they tend to be fully booked two days in advance. We managed to get into the Far East restaurant—lovely ambience, but absolutely freezing since it’s outdoors and they provided no blankets, which are a must in April. The food wasn’t great, but the service was fabulous—thank you to the waiter working last Friday! Not full

Fabulous hotel with lovely food & drinks with terrific views, some real treats for cat lovers but above all its the staff that make Arcanus special - Nur, Mehmet, Halime & Abdullahamid at the pool bar & Gokhan, Arife & Furkan at the lobby bar. These people are friendly & helpful & make your hols extra special. Thanks guys, see you next April ❤️

Lovely and clean place. We enjoyed the stay. The staff is respectful and polite. Prices in the hotel shops, hair dressers and the spa are a bit high though. We are really happy with the Kid's Club as you can safely leave your child with the ladies to have a couple of hours time for yourselves.

Me and my husband had such a fantastic time visiting the Arcanus Hotel. The hotel has everything you need. Beautiful restaurants, bars, shops and beautiful beach bars There was a wide variety of food drinks and delicious cakes. A special mention to the Head chef who works in the restaurant. He was so attentive and made us feel very welcome from the day we arrived. Big thanks to the bar staff who work at the main bar. Very friendly and welcoming especially the barmans who worked at the bar on the first floor with a beautiful balcony view. Big thank you to the manager Halil who is very pleasant and friendly always welcoming with a smile and chat. We are definitely looking to return next year. Can't wait to return in the future.

We were greeted on arrival We were greeted on arrival, check in was very quick and we were taken to our room, the luggage followed. A very pleasant room with pool view and the sea. The room was spotless nice bathroom with walk in shower, toiletries available, personally I prefer my own. Plenty of coat hangers and drawer space, our bed was very comfortable, pillows not bad although they got hot. Tea coffee facilities a small filled fridge with water beer orange drink which was filled daily, also a large bottle of water. Air conditioning in the room but we didn’t use it, we left our balcony door slightly open at night, no mosquitoes. Small table and chairs and an ash tray to use if you smoke. There was a small line for your swimming gear. The room was cleaned daily, towels changed regularly and bedding changed every other day. Buffet breakfast, something for everyone, you couldn’t possibly go hungry, lunch more than enough choice, and the evening buffet once again you wouldn’t go hungry, when we were there from 5th November-15th November all was pretty calm I’d imagine it would be heaving throughout the summer months and extremely hot! Also lots of children. Entertainment in the evening if you want it, otherwise plenty of bars. Lots of sun loungers whilst we were there. Cafe next to the beach. Towels free. Outdoor pool was exceptionally clean but freezing cold . Indoor pool heated okay for fit people. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to use as there was no easy way for me to enter the pool, very close parallel steps (I’m slightly disabled and wasn’t able to get in or out of the poo!) They do have a mobile hoist but no one knew how to use it properly hence it was dangerous, this needs to be addressed asap otherwise an accident could occur, I might add I was very sad that I wasn’t able to swim as I was so looking forward to it. The reception staff very helpful and friendly, nothing was to much trouble. Oscar was an excellent front of house and he booked the A La Carte restaurants, we had the Mexican but our favourite was the Italian restaurant, it was fabulous, beautiful decor and the food was great. Now the backbone of keeping the hotel and gardens tidy and spotlessly clean were the cleaners gardeners and the room cleaners they deserve to be well rewarded, everyone connected to the hotel were amazing. Half way through my 10 day break and this is our second time at this hotel ( this is the first only time I have visited the same place twice) .this hotel is brilliant the food for the al-cart is amazing a five course masterpiece I've had the Italian and Mexican if they said you had to pay on your way out I would of not complained either. The snack bars are brilliant the beach bar serves kebabs .the pool.bar serves KFC chicken hamburgers chips onion rings pizza waffles ECT.. the main restaurant are also good plenty of choice and the drinks are very good cocktails plenty of choice and the service the waiters give you are brilliant always happy to serve with a smile on there face they out do them selfs everyday..the entertainment team always try to get you involved and are very polite and funny to deal with . The spa centre is very good the ladies on the desk and the massage girls are brilliant.special mention to EFE he always stops and says hello and has a chat with you to see if you are good and need help with anything.... YACIN the lifeguard is very friendly also. The beach is very clean as are the pool.areas .The reception team are very polite and welcoming as are the bellboys the cleaners are brilliant at what they do polite and friendly.... Love this hotel and all the people with make our stay so good .all in all THE ARCANUS SORGUN HOTEL IS THR BEST AROUND 👍👍👍
