Manchester Portland By Sunday

Stayed here for one night, perfect location right in the centre of Manchester and it was near the Christmas market which is why we came. Near restaurant and bars. We arrived 15 minutes early before our check in time. Was greeted by the staff, very friendly and cheerful. We both deaf so they asked if we wanted a fire alert system which we said yes too. Room was allocated on the 4th floor, room 414. Nice size room, queen bed, big bathroom with shower. Had all the amenities such as kettle and hairdryer. The only problem we had was Tv was in the wrong place, placed on left wall.

Really enjoyed my 1 night stay.Its in a great location as it's only about a 7 minute walk to Manchester Piccadilly rail station. I was up on the 4th floor in room 412 and although the room overlooked the main road there was very little noise. It was also a nice size not cramped. Beds were comfy, everywhere was clean and the shower was great no low water pressure. There was a kettle in the room but never used it, but did make use of the hairdryer. Nice relaxed atmosphere throughout the hotel. Some of the decor did look a bit tired but it did'nt take from the overall experience Didn't have breakfast included in my booking but paid £13 for it and was impressed by the choice Continental at one side cooked at the other. All staff i encountered were really friendly and helpful. I would def stay here again if im ever back in Manchester

Overall a lovely little hotel, very cheerful in terms of decor and fantastic location for our first trip to Manchester. Rooms are on the basic end, but clean and very comfortable. We heard no noise all night, which is incredible considering the location. You can control your own heating in the rooms, the shower is fantastic- high pressure and no flooding (which sometimes happens in hotel rooms). Breakfast was great, a nice selection of meats, cheeses, breads, cereals, cooked items, teas, coffee, fruit, yoghurts. I would like there to be more pastry options as there were only croissants, but these were very nice. The breakfast staff were lovely, although I didn’t find the receptionists to be the most friendly- as they rushed our check in and didn’t tell us where the lifts were or where breakfast was etc. but otherwise a very pleasant stay.

Located in the centre of Manchester within easy walking distance of Piccadilly station, this hotel had everything I needed for a basic stay. The check-in was straightforward, the room had all the facilities needed, housekeeping came daily without causing interruptions. The hotel lifts both work and there is late night entry. The hotel appeared to have changed ownership since I booked but at no point did this cause any problems. I would use it again.

Hotel Feeling tired - televisions in 2 rooms (we moved as given a disabled room) didn’t work, air conditioning not working and windows wouldn’t open so very warm room. On plus side room was clean and location was good if you are going to the palace theatre. Handy for Oxford road station. Great staff so made the stay enjoyable.

Das Portland liegt zentral am Picadilly Gardens und ist eine gute Möglichkeit in Manchester zu übernachten. Es ist ein Hotel mit origineller Ausstattung und mein Zimmer war sauber und hatte ein bequemes Bett.
