Having always went all inclusive with 3 young kids we decided this year, as they were now older(14,12,9), we’d try something a bit different. We always heard about eurocamps and were initially going to another resort on Lake Garda. But having read the reviews about the numbers and queues we were immediately put off. A quick search through trip advisor and Europa Silvella popped up. After a reading a couple of pages of reviews our mind was made up. We booked into one of the Rocca units. There was a short walk from here to the pools and reception. All the team that work in the site are helpful and friendly. The 3 pools(1 toddlers) are well kept and well looked after from the 2 life guards that actually keep a good eye on the pools. There’s plenty of sun chairs too so there’s no running down at day break to reserve chairs. The bar at the pool serves great snacks/ice cream/food/drinks etc. We only ate in the restaurant one night due to travelling about a bit and were seated no issues. Food here was excellent. It also does a takeaway service, we got 3 large pizzas and fries for €30 and took them up to our veranda and ate. That took all the hassle of everyone trying to washed and dressed up for dinner. The market on site had everything you needed to keep you living for the stay. We made our own breakfast every morning in the comfort of our own lodge. No rushing down a barge through the bedlam you get at most ai resorts. Entertainment would be based probably more for younger audiences during the day and evenings. At 11 at night it’s quiet time so bars etc all closed and access to vehicles stopped. You could park outside and dander in and then bring your car, if you have one, back in morning. There access to 2 beaches, one of them has a pathway, that’s lit up for a lot of it and goes on for miles. It has many bars/restaurants along it and is a fantastic walk at dark. Car hire not essential but def helps if you want to shop at Lidl say, or catch the train to Venice/Verona/Milan. The nearest station is Desenzano, 20 min drive. All in all if your looking for a peaceful laid back holiday this your place. We absolutely loved it and would return in the morning. Tip: if your prone to bites bring plenty of repellant, being on a lake has plenty of mozzies but this applies to everywhere on the lake. I wore nothing and got bit about 12 times over the week. My wife is more prone to bites and she had about the same amount but wore repellent and a bracelet.
