The Plough Inn

We spent two excellent nights here on our last visit to Wales. Just outside the market town of Llandeilo this hotel is one of the best in the area. Staff were friendly on arrival and the check-in went smoothly, even though we arrived a little early. Our room was modern and clean, with all the amenities one would want. The complimentary sparkling wine was an extra not expected. The on-suite bathroom was spacious, clean and with everything one needs. We had a view over the Towy Valley and the foothills of the Black Mountains and Garn Goch, an old Iron Age hill fortress. We ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was simply delicious well prepared and plenty of it. Washed down with a good bottle of wine. Their menu and wine list do complement each other. Even if you are not staying here its well worth coming for dinner one night. Needless to say breakfast was also superb their full Welsh is one of the best I've had and was large to say the least. There are also other choices if you need a lighter option. There are also some very good outdoor seating areas where you sit have a coffee, glass of wine or drink and take in the views.

We booked online we arrived plenty of parking space we meet up in the bar had a drink then went to our table all the staff was friendly and courteous good range of menu & specials board every course I had was wonderful & all of us enjoyed good service & value for money will certainly return again

Very disappointed. Stopped by tonight for a meal. Lovely lady on reception and barman said there was availability but the lady at the restaurant was most unwelcoming and did not even attempt to try book us in, despite there being many tables empty and available. Her manner was rude and made us feel very uncomfortable. We won’t be visiting again. Wholly disappointed as we had heard good things and were considering booking for our next stay in Wales. Would have been satisfied if there was no room and we were just told as much but the lady was not accommodating at all and made a rather public fuss at having to try to find us a table!

Excellent room (301), food and service. A very enjoyable evening's entertainment too. The Plough is our "go-to" place for a stay and a base for visiting places on the coast. We've visited many times and found it to be consistently very good.

Decided to visit South Wales for a short break and found this hotel by accident and booked one of their special offers. As soon as we arrived and we were directed to our room 208, which was the Towy Suite, we realised that we had chosen well. A very large and spacious quiet room with views of the countryside. An enormous four poster bed dominates the room but with plenty of extra space to accommodate a sofa and additional furniture with drawers also a large wardrobe with good hanging space. The large bathroom with free standing bath and very large separate shower and also a double sink completed our accommodation. The restaurant and bar area where dinner was served and the separate breakfast room were not over large but seemed to meet the hotels requirements and were never overcrowded even though the hotel encouraged not resident dining. The food was excellent for all meals and seemed to be cooked to order and was always hot and presented well. The service level was perfect and a special thanks to Zak for correcting a wrong order we made and to the lady who attended us at breakfast. We would recommend to all without hesitation.

We had an amazing anniversary stay. Exceptionally warm and personal welcome from Sara, Andrew and the staff. The room was spotless and spacious with a lovely view. The food was exceptional we chose from the specials menu. We were very touched by the complimentary glass of champagne with dinner and the attentive service in the restaurant. Breakfast was to its usual high standard. The plough never fails to deliver, it holds very special memories for us and we will be back for a 2 night stay in November with friends.
