If you look in a dictionary for the definition of "charming" you're likely to see a photo of the RII. This B&B has good-sized and spotless rooms, warm, attractive decor, excellent management and a delightful vibe. It's 180 degrees different (and better) than a typical chain motel room. Lee, the on-site manager, could not have been more helpful. This is where you want to stay when in the Manteo area of the Outer Banks.

One of the most thoughtful places one could stay. Every detail was planned out. The grounds are gorgeous English cottage gardens. The rooms and views were lovely. We felt relaxed and renovated after staying at the inn. We liked that they allowed kids, which let us stay at an inn with all the ambiance! Right next to the downtown and boardwalk. The town, Manteo, has a classic, quaint, east coast, and small town feel.

This Inn has the sweetest, most thoughtful, loveliest inn-keepers. They have considered every little detail for their guests’ comfort and enjoyment. The room we stayed in was beautiful, well appointed and adorned with many personal touches like fresh flowers and reusable branded water bottles for us to keep for the rest of our trip. We wished we had booked a longer stay.

Charming and centrally located, this was the perfect spot to begin our Christmas vacation. We have a house for a week in Corolla but didn’t want the long drive the day of check in. Decided to stay in Manteo for the night. It was really cold when we arrived but our room was cozy and warmed up. Lee called before we arrived to provide us with the information we needed since we were coming after office hours. There is a lovely reception area to play games or get a beverage and tons of books if you are a reader. Unfortunately, weather wasn’t nice enough to sit on the porch and take in the view. We met Lee the next morning and he let us look at some of the other cottages so we could let a family member know about accommodations that would fit their needs. Nice place, very clean and great service !

Great experience! Very clean rooms! The Innkeeper was very welcoming and available. He even called soon after we left to let us know we left a shirt behind which we then picked up! Overall, quaint and cozy Inn! Very close within walking distance to the downtown area.

Clean room and a good bed. Shared porch area with views of the water. No fridge in room so any items had to be stored in a pretty small fridge in the common kitchen. Breakfast was OK and coffee, drinks and snacks on offer at any time. Bikes available

The Roanoke Island Inn is less than a 5 minute walk into the Manteo village and steps from a lovely boardwalk. Lee helped us plan our day with a map and suggestions. The grounds are beautiful and it is nice to have a varied breakfast to start the day. We loved our room #7 because it had a view and is spacious. Parking is right out front. We visited many parts of the Outer Banks, but it was nice to return to the Inn and be able to walk into the village and walk the boardwalk. Very convenient.

Checked in today and could not be more pleased with the hotel and room. It is located just a short walk from the Manteo NC Boardwalk, which has a lot of great shopping and restaurants and it’s facing the water so the rooms have beautiful views. Love the rockers on the second-story balcony, and it has a real old world feel to it. Our room had beautiful, antiques and was caringly outfitted with toiletries and snacks. Everything is top notch. Had a great conversation with the owner when we checked in and he shared a lot of cool stories about the property. Definitely will come back I would recommend this to anyone.

This was our first bed and breakfast experience. We had a wonderful time and found the Inn to be so charming, comfortable, relaxing and educational. A beautiful setting overlooking the water. Any amenities we could have asked for were provided. The Inn Keepers were very attentive, friendly and made sure we had anything we needed. Looking forward to returning fall of 2024 for a longer visit!!
