Abad Turtle Beach

This was a lovely place to stay. The setting is gorgeous with rooms in pairs dotted around the beautifully kept grounds. There is an abundance of trees, shrubs and flowers and plenty of birds and butterflies to see. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is excellent with a choice of buffet and a la carte at every meal. The resort has its own ayurvedic treatment centre and a butterfly garden. The beach is very close by, but for those who don't fancy a swim in the sea, the resort's pool is a very good one. I'd love to go back.

The Staff is very friendly and attentive, wich makes up for some shortcomings of the resort. The rooms are located in small buildings within a beautiful park. Unfortunately, our first room was surrounded by plain sand, so we didn’t feel like sitting on the porch and asked for another room. After moving to a much nicer and greener location within the resort, we discovered that the fridge was missing from its cabinet. The outside of our building had fresh paint on the side facing the pathway, but not on the backside. Overall, we had the impression that the resort is a bit rundown and needs a general overhaul, but the staff did their best to make our stay pleasant.

The Cottages, the Service of the Bell Boys and the Waiters in the Restaurant were quite good. The Ayurvedic Spa, however, left a lot to be desired right from the attitude of the Manager - Dr (?) Blessy to the atmosphere in the massage rooms. No blissful music, no aromatic smells, and the oils used were not hot enough. The food spread was okay - could definitely be better for a 4-star facility. The swimming pool was good but strangely enough the change rooms were a little walk away behind the Reception! Wonder why!

Resort was maintained well. The paths were always litter/leaves free considering the number of trees in the resort. Seats were clean and overall the gardens/trees were maintained well. Got to appreciate the team that is working behind it. The morning buffet was good and there was a good spread. It was tasty too. The restaurant staff was attentive and service was pretty good. The room service was prompt. The swimming pool was maintained well and we did use it. The activity room looked old. There was a carrom board, chess board and a table tennis board to play. Again these items looked old. The rooms felt old and it was difficult opening the main locks with the key provided. Same applies to the bathroom wooden doors too. It was difficult to open and close. Could be due to the cold/rainy weather. Bit of renovation/beautification to the rooms would definitely help. There was direct access to the beach and every time we went, there was a guard there to monitor which I found helpful. Sea was rough due to the rain. Also there were lot of stray dogs in the early morning hours and the guard was watchful of that too. Thanks to the resort team for maintaining the guard there. We did not use the Ayurveda and so cant talk about that. The service at the reception was good. Overall its a good calm place to stay. I would definitely come back but would like the resort team to take care of the doors & locks. May they could put a new one :).

Very well maintained resort. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. There is a private beach. The beach, though is deep, so can't venture deep inside. Restaurant is good with nice food. Staff is helpful and tries to make you comfortable. Overall very nice stay. Wouldn't hesitate to come back.
