Advocate Arms

Would NOT recommend this hotel. Booked after reading good reviews on other sites. The whole upstairs guest area is grubby with dirty carpets. We booked 3 rooms and all three had a problem, from the minor of no loo roll in one, broken hairdryer in another to the horror of dirty bedding with a dead bug and several dark hairs in the third which wasn’t discovered until bedtime so could not be rectified as there was no staff around. Other guests trying room doors at night and arguing and banging in rooms close by. The price of the breakfast was not included, took ages to be served after ordering and was barely warm when arrived.

The food was delicious. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Offering to carry our bags to a really comfortable room that was clean, quiet. The service was top class. It really deserves top reviews. Thanks Advocate, we’ll be back!!

Very welcoming hotel and staff. Nathan was superb re booking on phone and also showed us our room on check in. He was excellent and helpful during our stay. Room 6 very nice with balcony. Rooms very generous. Lovely bathroom. Excellent location. Katie and her Team very helpful. Wendy and Tracy from housekeeping were very friendly and kept the room superb and on hand as needed. The breakfast add on is a no brainer at £5 per person during booking. Nice options, nice food, peaceful, comfy dining areas. We look forward to returning. Thank you.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Advocate Arms whilst in the Market Rasen area this week. - The staff were extremely friendly & helpful - My room was great - The food at dinner was superb - The breakfast was just as good With the above in mind, I would have no problem recommending The Advocate as great place to stay / eat and will certainly stay there again, the next time I'm in the area. SD.

How is this a 5* hotel??? The place is in ruins, the staff all act like they’ve been hit with a wet fish! Someone smile! Feels like a budget glitter hotel, someone sort this place out, could be amazing.… Food was reasonable, atmosphere was good, some of the decor is questionable. Please remove the 5* rating plastered all over the premises, you don’t have clue….

My husband found this hotel for our weekend away on Tripadvisor. What a find. The room a good size, it was immaculate, the bed comfortable, super bathroom, the service excellent, the food fantastic, and all reasonably priced. What’s not to like. If I had to make one comment, pity there is no lift. But it didn’t spoil our weekend. Can’t wait to come back.

On the positive side, the duty manager (young guy) couldn’t have been more welcoming, and our bedroom was large and comfortable. The food at dinner was fine, but the clientele was rowdy and loud. Lots of effing and blinding. And we were having an early dinner ! Later we could hear them pouring into the streets in a tornado of noise. At breakfast - which to be fair was busy - the two ladies in charge studiously ignored us while they served people they seemed to know who had arrived after us, which is always irritating. When at last they did come to us, I explained that the evening manager had said we could opt for breakfast at £10 a head, on the day. The lead waitress tut tutted and said she knew nothing about it so I decided we wouldn’t stay for breakfast. The breakfast staff could definitely do with some retraining in customer relations!

We visited for our anniversary, evening meal, stay and breakfast. A warm welcome and quick check in. The room was lovley with a large bathroom. All extras provided in room like heater, fan, toiletries etc. The bed was very comfortable. We had a table booked for 8pm, we had starters and main which was fantastic. The entire restaurant experience was perfect. Comfortable stay and breakfast was great. Local produce and cooked really well. Overall a wonderful visit and I would recommend it to friends and family.
