Danskammer House

This was our second time staying at Danskammer House. Ken and Linda are the most welcoming and gracious hosts. They went above and beyond with our vision to have our elopement take place on their beautiful grounds! Our weekend was full of delectable food, laughter and love. We enjoyed the fire pit the evening before the ceremony, it was magical. They set up the tables for the cake cutting with linen and champagne glasses and complimentary flowers! Ken and Linda make you feel like family as they share the history of the house and their willingness to make your stay as fantastic as possible. The rooms are pristine and the bed and bedding...omg, you'll never want to go home! The rec room on the third floor is perfect, as are the views. Thank you Ken and Linda for making our vision come to fruition...we will definitely return! Can't wait to see the Zen garden!

Super friendly couple provided the history of this 1800s home before we got to our room on the second floor. Their recommendations for dinner at the Raccoon Saloon were spot on. This old stagecoach inn had real character! And great burgers too. The huge country breakfast included a tasty frittata also. The Live at the Falcon blues jam just down the street was a real highlight of our visit to Marlboro.

We had a wonderful stay at the Danskammer B&B! Ken and Linda are really beautiful people. They are full of information about places to see, eat, drink, hike and play. The house is charming, clean and so nicely decorated. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. From the minute we arrived, we knew it was going to be a great experience. It's one of the nicest B&B's we've stayed in. And the breakfast was delicious! Oh, I can't forget the coffee. It was excellent!

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights and had a wonderful time. The hosts are extremely friendly and are a wealth of information as regards attractions close by and also dining options. Both breakfasts were wonderful and our French dinner at the CIA was marvelous. The FDR home and museum are amazing and the Millionaires View at the Vanderbilt Mansion is breathtaking.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay this past weekend at this gem of a B&B. Beautiful, well-appointed ,and welcoming bed and breakfast with every detail thought through. We enjoyed Ken and Linda's warm hospitality and interesting explanations of the history of the area and of the house's interior. Delicious, hearty breakfasts, afternoon snacks, and plenty of places to lounge/drink wine with friends, including a lovely garden leading to town, are some of its assets. Its proximity to many great restaurants, wineries, and scenery make it a great place to explore this part of the Hudson Valley.

Danskammer House exceeded our expectations as a bed and breakfast. Linda and Ken lovingly restored the historic house to much of its original glory. The interior was dressed with period pieces and artwork reflecting the history of the area. The third floor public lounge space offered additional entertainment with a TV, games, window seats and mini wet bar with stemware and a small refrigerator. The grounds descending to the street below contained well tended gardens of fruits, vegetables and an assortment of flowers. Our bedroom and ensuite bathroom were bright, well appointed and very comfortable. The owners, Linda and Ken, provided a breakfast beyond believable- better than gourmet and individually prepared (I am a vegetarian). The food was locally sourced or right from their own gardens. The afternoon "tea" in the Japanese themed carriage house was equally enjoyable. Our hosts shared a wealth of information about the area (things to do, area restaurants, etc). They were always available for questions, historical context or "issues" like oiling a squeaky bathroom door! We look forward to returning when we are back in the area next spring.
