Club Med Marrakech la Palmeraie

An amazing week at Club Med. The staff do everything to make sure you are having a fantastic time. Ahmed looked after us every mealtime ensuring we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal and lovely Kimo from the entertainment staff made sure we had fun dancing the night away every evening. The food was always delicious. Hugo sorry we failed to find you a wife. . Hope to return soon.

We were very disappointed about the stay at Club Med Marrakech. The experience was unfortunately so bad that we cancelled the entire trip at short notice. We originally booked for entire week, and left already after 4 days. The hygiene in the restaurant and in the hotel room - that is way below average. I can't understand how Club Med can run hotels like this! The rooms are old and have to be renovated. But that is something we can accept. But cleanliness is a big issue there too. The corners were not cleaned properly - very dusty. Toilet roll holder hangs down broken... etc. In the restaurants - dirty corners everywhere. The splashguard at the cooking stations were oily. In morning, we observed several times, that restaurant staff wiped the leftovers, bread crumbs just of the table to the ground or on the chair. Horrible. When we said we were checking out early, no one cared why we did that. We send after the trip an official complaint to Club Med. I don't expect them to return any sort of the reimbursement for our bad experience. They just wrote us that they need more pics and if we have filed complaints on site. Honestly, the situation over there cannot be improved just by few complaints any more. The hotel need to seriously consider how they should run such a resort - especially for the price what Clud Med is asking. Good Luck.

Perhaps in our naivety having not gone to Club Med before, we assumed it would be more of a Moroccan feel (or at least international), but it was like being in France, rather than Marrakech. As we don't speak French, that was an issue - e.g. the kids couldn't do kid's club so therefore couldn't make friends, they couldn't watch the films at movie night, we couldn't watch any of the entertainment on the other nights (the magic show, plays etc) as we couldn't understand any of it, all of the fitness classes are in French etc. So it can feel very excluding as an English-speaking family. Having said that, the club is nicely located, the family oasis area and pool were great, the buffet and regular snacks (at midday and mid-afternoon) was good overall (although very samey every day), the room was quiet and spacious with garden access and although others have complained about cleanliness, we felt that side of things was absolutely fine. The staff on the whole are really friendly and helpful. A couple of the reception staff were rude, e.g. eye rolling with simple requests, but apart from that, they were great.

We are staying at Club Med and having a wonderful time. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. We are particularly enjoying having meals at El Kabir, which has a delicious a la carte menu and is quieter than the main restaurant (it’s free / included in all inclusive). A big thank you to Birkan, Youssef, Adel and Taoufik for taking such good care of us. A real gem!
