Palais de l'o - Maison d'hôtes

Palais de l'O is a traditional Moroccan riad, just outside Marrakech, very beautiful and peaceful. The rooms are full of character and almost all have balconies. The pool is stunning and pristine surrounded by comfortable day beds. There is a spa offering traditional hamman, massages, sauna etc. The reception staff were very helpful, and pulled out all the stops to solve a problem (caused by me) with one of our tours. All the staff were very friendly and polite. The breakfast was substantial and impressive, although the dinner menu is somewhat limited. The only downside is that you need transport to get to central Marrakech which are taxis costing approx. MAD200, but most organised tours will pick up and drop off at the hotel. Overall we loved our stay in Marrakech and this hotel was a large part of the enjoyment.

We had a very good time in the hotel, the pool is very nice and clean with a very comfortable king size leather pool mattress, the rooms are large with a very comfortable bed and a very good mattress, the room was cleaned every day also the air conditioning was working perfectly hot and cold also with tv and small safe - it can do with some maintenance, the receptionist (Rawad) was very kind, professional and funny with a lovely true smile also the others were very pleasant, the menu was limited but the food is fresh and nice same as the breakfast was very fresh and nice, what do you want for less than £3.00 for a moroccoan tea enough for 4 people and large sparkling cold bottle of water with ice and sliced of lemon served on the pool with real smiling waiters for less than £3.00, The location is a little far from the city but you don’t need to travel every day, it is very safe but believe me your are a way from the hustle and bustle from the city which you can go for many excursions to visit. You can’t change your money in many hotels so get your exchange with you or in the airport. I read some negative reviews and I don’t agreed as the hotel is very clean, the staff is lovely etc. the holiday is how you make it? If you are negative and looking for faults you will spoil it - with experience of 28 years of my own travel agent most of the clients don’t know is the hotel only gets a small part of your money also ask, the travel company gets more of your money so enjoy relaxing time at 23 degrees in February and stop mooning and enjoy you holiday and leave a fair and honest review. I recommend the hotel to family and friends and good willing we will go again soon.

This is a complete scam. Do not visit this hotel. They took my card details for a deposit. They said they wouldn't take the money from my account, that it was only on hold and wouldn't leave my account. This was a complete lie. We spent €200 in the hotel, which we paid on departure. We left the room immaculate and they took €100 off us for no reason the day after we left. They staff were the worst service staff I've ever experienced. Every single time we saw them they were all sitting on their phones and wouldn't even look up as we passed by them. There was no atmosphere at all in this hotel. Do not visit this hotel. I couldn't be more disappointed in this.

I spent 5 nights here, I had a nice suite with nice view on the pool. Fireplace in the room unfortunately they told me I could not use it could give a very nice ambient adding some wood to fire....No phone in the room to call reception so anytime you need anything you have to walk downstairs. No water in the cover pool that could be super nice I choose this place for the spa (nice Hammam by the way) the structure need more work to be a 5 star hotel...the guardian very nice, some weather and chef good, food normal. Good lamb....why I give a 2 stars? Cause we had problem with water 💧 for 2 nights we couldn't get shower and I asked on the check out to cut from the final bill few bottle of water (literally on a principal point of view) not for a few dollars but receptionist say firmly No...after we explained the issued, kind thry care only about money not knowing that some ppl see details. The are are far from everything and yes is a choice but when you choose to be far from everything you expect to have everything you need in a 5 star hotel. Felt ok but if I would decide to go near Marrakech I would spend a little more to feel more comfortable. God bless you all and give more attention to clients then dollars!

Where do i even begin... i have been hesitant about writing this review. But i have to be honest and help people not to make the same mistake and book this hotel. Palais de l'O is far from a 5* hotel and deserves to be a 2* at most. for the price that was paid, we were not provided with a 5* treatment. The hotel is in dire need of a renovation, as it is very worn, front cracked tiles near the pool, tattered towels in the room as pool areas, very little help from staff even when booking a cab. Pictures online are misleading and photoshopped Also for a so called 5* hotel round the clock room service should be available, but it isn't, they also have set times you can order food and drinks which is quiet frankly ridiculous.... Just avoid this place at all costs.

My experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The staff's behavior was outright rude and unprofessional. During my stay, I had an issue with a suitcase holder that broke, and I specifically mentioned not to put heavy suitcases on it. To my surprise, they attempted to blame me for the damage and even tried to charge me an exorbitant fee for the repair. It's concerning that the staff would resort to such dishonest tactics to make extra money from their guests. This experience left me feeling cheated and frustrated. I strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to be cautious, as they might try to scam you and charge you unfairly for things that aren't your fault. My stay here was far from pleasant, and I would not recommend it to others.
