Riad Dar Zaya

At first glance, the guest house feels incredibly cozy and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable—just don't expect hotel-level standards. But honestly, what truly sets this Riad apart and makes it feel even better than a 5-star hotel is the staff. We stayed for four nights, and during our stay, my daughter came down with the stomach flu. The way everyone responded was just amazing. They were so kind, patient, and genuinely caring, doing everything they could to help us through the situation without a single complaint. They really went above and beyond to make sure my daughter felt better and could enjoy the rest of the trip. And the food? Absolutely incredible. It was the best we had during our entire time in Morocco. Their smoked aubergine starter was a standout—don’t miss it!

We wanted to stay in a riad at the heart of Marrakech's Medina, and wanted a place that was authentic, clean, beautiful and safe. After an extensive search on multiple platforms, we decided to stay at Riad Dar Zaya, and we couldn't have picked a better place. The place is stunning and the owner, Yessine, is a great host and runs a fantastic business. Staff is welcoming, the place is very clean, located dab smack in the middle of the Medina, close to the secret garden and all major must see spots. If you are looking for a great place to call home while exploring Marrakech, this is it!

Really romantic riad to stay in - it's connected with another riad so you get to see two riads all for the price of one. The rooms are a bit dark for my liking - better lighting would be better. Also, we had a triple room, and I wasn't aware that there wasn't a third bed in the room - a layaway bed was provided but it was way too soft to sleep on. Finding the riad is quite challenging - we were led by the person from our prior riad and he had trouble finding it so definitely ask riad to meet you beforehand. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and the rooftop was the best one that we saw in Fes and Marrakech.

We stayed at Riad Dar Zaya for several days and had a GREAT experience!! The riad is in the heart of the Medina, just a few minutes from the Jemaa El Fna square. At the beginning it is not easy to reach but just call and they will pick you up (so forget who says it is unreachable, in case keep in mind the bar with the Illy sign, around the corner there is the alley that takes you to the Riad). The rooms are all beautifully decorated with Moroccan furnishings, the bathrooms are beautiful! (especially the shower!), the rooms are very spacious, the beds very comfortable, very clean, with wifi and air conditioning. The internal courtyard has a small and beautiful swimming pool but you can also use the one of the connected riad and of the same property. Among the strong points is the staff: the guys are FANTASTIC!!!!!!! THANK YOU for your absolute availability, kindness and professionalism!! the kindness of the lady who prepares the food is unique, like the courtesy of the lady who manages the rooms. The manager of the Riad is very prepared to offer you information on the city and on tours. The breakfast is excellent with fresh and local products, it nourishes you until the evening! The terrace is a ENCHANTMENT...especially in the evening when the sun goes down, when the muezzins sing from the minarets. Moving. There is a peace and silence throughout the Riad that you don't expect, because it really is in the middle of the souk and in the heart of Marrakesh. We couldn't ask for more, it was a stay that we will keep in our hearts forever. THANKS AGAIN!!!!!!

We loved our stay at Riad Dar Zaya! Yassine was kind, helpful and communicative even before our trip. He helped us make arrangements for getting ourselves and our bags to and from the riad, and even arranged for us to have wine with dinner or on the terrace (wine and beer are hard to find in the medina). The space itself is beautiful and comfortable with a lovely rooftop terrace. It is conveniently located right off of Jemaa El Fna. I would highly recommend this lovely riad!

We had the best time and felt at home all because of the wonderful staff Yassin, Karim, Amina and the kitchen staff......we miss you already!!! They went above and beyond to make our stay extremely comfortable. The Riad as a whole was beautiful and unique, definitely a diamond in the rough. The roof top terrace was probably are favorite place to spend time, eat, have tea, watch the sun set and listen to the call to prayer. The location was also ideal and safe, only 5 min walking distance from the souks and Jemaa el-Fnaa square.
