Toyoko INN Marseille Saint Charles recensioner

It was located in a rather bad area, many homeless and noisy even after mid night. The lobby has a security to stand by, so you could imagine why they need to hire one. It was far away from metro stations, it was close to the train station if you need to travel further. Police patrolling cars were seen in the area every day during the five-day stay. The washroom in the room has no fan, it smells. The breakfast offered in the cafe was the worst, only baguette, croissant, some cheese, some ham, cereals, juice and coffee. Not even eggs. It’s also not vegetarian or began friendly, no choices at all. Overall, it wasn’t a pleasant stay.

I was here for a night. Location is good less than 10 minutes from train station and not too far from city center. Only a thing was not good. It didn’t have internet in my room.

Well located close to the port and the centre. Although the area is rough, it's close to the train and bus station. The staff is nice and breakfast is included.

Perfect hotel, only 10m walking from the train station and very close to the center. We also managed to do an early check in for free 2h in advance ! 🙏

Good value for money. Clean rooms and very good amenities at this price point (kettle, fridge etc.) lt's convenient for the main train station, but it's not in a very nice area. The road between the hotel and the Porte D'aix is one of the most unpleasant and dirty I've seen in Europe with rubbish everywhere. Of course, this is not the hotel's fault, but if you want a nice location, this isn't it.

Hotel is fine for its price, area is a little bit sketchy but aside of that everything was excellent

Overall not so good No morning call No light and change other room. Later, the tiliet is out of service and I tell the lady two times but finally no one repair. Besides, the breakfast provide egg commonly but zero

Hotel was lovely. Breakfast was fine. Location was very close to the station, so convenient. Marseille on the whole is quite a dirty city, so I can see why some people say the hotel is in a dodgy area, but the location was fine. Very convenient.

Room size is small as expected, but location is good that just around 10min walk from train station.

I preferred the other hotel I stayed that is opposite the the train station. Rooms here are as tiny as in Japan and overall breakfast was not great. A place where you don’t want to stay during the day.

The hotel is well organized and clean. The staff is very nice. I arrived 2 hours before check in. However, the reception checked that the room was ready and allowed me to check in earlier. Overall, it is clear that the staff cares about the guests. The breakfast was average, but fully met the needs. The location is worth considering in two ways. On the one hand, the hotel is right next to the train station (5 minutes by foot), I had an early flight, so it was convenient to leave early, there is a train and shuttle from the train station to the airport. On the other hand, the area where the hotel is located has a feeling of insecurity, as is common for many areas located near the station.

Clean and roomy. Good free breakfast with bread, pastry, cheese, cold cut, cereal, fruit and a variety of drinks. My only complaint would be you'd need to push your luggage slightly uphill on a longer route to get to the station if you dont want to carry it over 2 flights upstairs.

Great Location: It's conveniently located near Marseille Saint-Charles train station, making it easy to get around or travel to other cities. Friendly Staff: The staff were courteous and helpful, and several spoke English, which made check-in smooth. Good Breakfast: A free breakfast was included with both Western and Japanese options, which was a pleasant surprise in France. Good Value: For Marseille, the price was very reasonable given the quality of the stay. Cons: Small Rooms: As expected with Toyoko Inn, the rooms are compact, which might be a downside for those needing more space. Limited Amenities: There's no gym or restaurant on-site beyond breakfast, but for a short stay, it's not a major issue. Overall, Toyoko Inn Marseille is an excellent choice for travelers looking for a clean, affordable, and well-located hotel with a touch of Japanese hospitality. I would definitely stay here again.
