Masindi Hotel

This hotel oozes history. It has timeless charm and feels like you are stepping back in time. The staff are so friendly and will do anything to help. The rooms have beautiful simple yet stunning decor. It's the sort of place you want to start writing a book. The gardens create a tranquil atmosphere. Our delicious breakfast was only disturbed by monkeys also wanting our banana. (top tip - ask for the soft pillows on the bed) Also the gift shop is particularly good and the crafts are embedded throughout the hotel.

Excellent service from helpful, friendly staff. Great decor, comfy beds. The staff helpfully arranged a cake for a reunion at short notice. If traffic noise bothers you, ask the for the back rooms. Would recommend the avocado vinaigarette.

We arrived late in Masindi, after our safari drive, only to find our hotel had given away our rooms. (even after confirmation) We didn’t know what to do and were beyond stressed. We called Masindi Hotel, and surprise, surprise they had rooms. They very kindly opened up their hotel for us. They greeted us with fresh juice and amazing hospitality. They could tell we were exhausted and hungry, and they kindly offered to open the kitchen and make us dinner. We were so hungry, and we almost cried when they offered this. Who does this in today’s world?!? Their food is delicious by the way!!! Butter chicken was our favorite! We loved the historical tour and found the place to be full of charm and history. (Kathryn Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart, and Hemingway all stayed here) It’s a one-in-a million hotel. Place was so clean!!! Great mosquito nets, fluffy towels, and comfortable beds!!! We also appreciated the very hot showers with amazing water pressure!!! My husband said it was the best shower he’s had in Uganda. We lived here for years, so that says a lot. Stay at Masindi Hotel!! You’ll be so blessed!

Having spent a year before visiting masindi hotel, I found an amazing person called Peter who gave us the best care. Masindi hotel became the best stay in masindi for my family . I recommend masindi hotel to everyone for they have the best care and customer service under the brilliant peter . He never allowed us feel lonely in spite him being fixed. You could see him attending to all the clients in the hotel with passion. Disappointing was he only worked in the evening shift by which we missed him alot. The other laddies we found on the morning were not good to handle us for they gave us less concern . They even were using local language to speak about themselves which was so Disappointing.

The Masindi hotel has amazing Ugandan History. The Manager Raheem went above and Beyond to explain the Rich legacy of movies, past presidents and old Sugar baron days. Not far from here is the Amazing Murchison Falls. The Long verandah and friendly staff make it a must stop on way to the Queen Elizabeth Park.

This is a great place to stay in Masindi. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The food is great. The rooms are clean. It is not a luxury or modern hotel, but is filled with character. The grounds are also great for walking. It is very safe.
