Hotel Domaine des Etangs, Auberge Resorts Collection

We've stayed at many lovely hotels around the world and this one is definitely among the best. We stayed in the main castle, which was so tastefully decorated. The mix of an antique space and traditional touches with modern fixtures and furnishings is inspiring; similarly, the grounds mix wild/ natural spaces with 7 stunning man-made ponds, manicured gardens, and contemporary sculptures. We brought our 27 year old daughter with us, but the hotel is also child-friendly, with sitting areas, play areas, and a sense of whimsy that young children would love (t-bar, fairy house, climbing net, chess board, game room, etc.). Developed not by a large corporation but by an owner, Domaine Des Etangs has heart, a unique style, and a true sense of place. The food was terrific and staff were attentive, warm, and seemed to love working there. There are many places in the world to see so we're rarely inclined to go back to a place, but this is a place to which we'd return for sure.

An experience of superlatives! The hotel is located in a huge private area, where there are not only beautiful paths, but also many modern sculptures. Just as the hotel itself has a lot of contemporary art. It has so many rooms where you can spend time playing, reading, talking, dreaming and a small but lovely thermal bath. The rooms are also beautiful and offer coffee and tea making facilities, water and a small local specialty to welcome you. Dogs are also catered for, with bowls and baskets provided. The food is excellent and it goes without saying that the location of the restaurant is also very nice. And - last but not least - all the hotel staff try to make your stay as pleasant as possible: Yes I can is the attitute!

More than a fairytale! This hotel is more than a castle stay—it exceeded our expectations. We totally enjoyed it. We stayed at the castle’s cottage, where hundreds of cows were outside our room. It was superb! Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were attentive and precise.

We booked the Chateau for a 2 night stay whist returning from holiday in the south of France. Booking over the phone directly with the facility was very easy and the receptionist gave a very good overview of the residence and the facilities. The facilties are fabulous, lovely room, great dining experience and very friendly staff. Overall a really enjoyable stay.
