We did not stay there but this was our Oasis at,night for a nice and relaxing diner. The staff os absolutely fantastic. So kind as well as the management team who came nicely to check of we were fine even coming from outside. If we go back in this region we will def go to Zanzibar queen. Everything about this wonderful hotel hits the mark - all the staff are really welcoming, helpful and conscientious; the layout of the hotel grounds - the pool, the restaurant, the bar, and the proximity to the beach are all so well placed to each other; the food from the breakfast buffet to the evening meal is excellent and varied; and the rooms are very comfortable and clean. After a week of traveling on safari this boutique hotel provided the perfect rest…

This was one of my favourite hotels on my independent trip to Kenya and Tanzania. The grounds and pool area are lovely with lots of flowers and trees. It’s pretty much right on the beach at Matemwe so, even if you decide to lie on the beach sun beds, you’re only seconds away from the pool. The beach is lovely. The staff are very friendly, particularly in the restaurant. The food is also excellent. Every meal I had was delicious so would definitely recommend booking with dinner included. The only reason I scored this a 4 and not a 5 is for two quite important reasons: 1. The air conditioning is quite ineffective. I couldn’t get the temperature of the room down anywhere near to what it was saying on the thermostat. Usually this would lower my rating significantly but everything else was so nice about the hotel. 2. The pillows!! Such an important part of a good hotel experience, yet the pillows here were possibly the least comfortable of my trip. Overall, I would definitely recommend but need to sort out the last two points.

A beautiful hotel set on a gorgeous beach. We were upgraded to a beach front bungalow, with its own garden, access to the beach and a plunge pool - it was perfect. The food was good with GF options catered for. A very relaxing three night break after being on safari.
