Riu Palace Mauritius - All Inclusive - Adults Only

Min partner och jag stannade 10 nätter. Det var verkligen ett mycket vackert renoverat hotell vilket är synd eftersom jag ångrar så mycket att boka detta hotell, här är anledningen: 1. Hotellstranden: är ett kite- och vindsurfingområde. När vi gick längs stranden och lämnade hotellet till den allmänna stranden bredvid var vinden mycket lugnare. Det betyder att vinden bara blåser så starkt i det specifika området på både hotell Riu Turquoise och Riu Palace. Det är rimligt att säga, på soliga dagar slutade vinden tack och lov men jag skulle inte ta mina chanser igen och bara gå till ett vanligt hotell. 2. Service: Det finns ingen service alls. Du måste gå upp och beställa allt du vill eftersom det inte finns någon bordsservering så du kan inte bara slappna av, du måste hela tiden gå och beställa i baren köa och allt möjligt! 3. Barer: "CAPPUCCINO Bar" öppnar kl 10 så en "kaffebar" som inte erbjuder kaffe tidigt på morgonen? Dessutom var bageriet stjäl varje gång jag försökte. Så inget kaffe före kl. 10 om du inte går till frukostbuffén och har snabbkaffe (inte ett fan). "Poolbaren" öppnar klockan 10 igen kan inte beställa vare sig en kaffe eller en drink och mycket låg musik det finns ingen atmosfär. "Sports bar" är för båda hotellen, vilket betyder att om du bara är vuxna från Riu Palace kan det finnas barn i baren från Riu turkos. 4. WiFi: det var mycket bra men vi kopplade bort innan vi faktiskt åkte så det är ganska dumt att göra det när vi förlitar oss på WiFi i det landet ärligt talat onödigt. 5. Underhållning: det finns inget att göra när det inte finns någon sol. "Sports bar" har 1 biljardbord med de 2 hotellen som har så stor kapacitet... Vanligt! Så ovanpå hård vind på hotellområdet har vi inget annat att göra när vädret är dåligt. Inga andra bordsspel, tennis eller paddelbana eller något/något. 6. Personal - Fördelar: Hotellet har underbar personal, artig och med goda avsikter. Mottagningen var mycket trevlig när vi fick våra flyg inställda 2 gånger och gav oss sen utcheckning. Artighet rum är också härlig touch. - Nackdelar: även om personalen arbetar hårt och gör sitt bästa, gör de tyvärr saker fel hela tiden, vilket verkligen försämrade vår erfarenhet. Öppnar dörren och går in i vårt rum direkt efter att ha knackat några gånger. Missplacerade vårt bagage och skickade oss till fel rum. Fyller inte på tvålen. Ingen fylla upp minibaren. Att inte göra våra kort ordentligt med att gå tillbaka till receptionen efter att ha gått hela vägen till rummet. Etc. Jag tror på bättre utbildning, kanske bättre ledning. Till exempel: På vår första morgon klippte de gräset bredvid vårt rum, vi var förvirrade varför vi vaknade till ett sådant ljud men ignorerade, gjorde oss i ordning och åt frukost för att komma dit de började klippa gräset bredvid oss. Jag sa omedelbart till servitören att snälla sluta att under frukosten som slutar klockan 10:00 kan de inte vänta? Efter det såg jag trädgårdsmästarna försöka klippa gräset bredvid frukosten och jag såg hur servitörerna sa åt dem att inte göra det. Så, mitt råd togs som var bra, men en normal ledning skulle ge råd

I want to thank everyone who works at this hotel for their tireless effort and services, starting from the top, to the list, specially the bar attendance, kitchen crew, house keepers and entertainers. You made our holiday an experience, keep it up. I am writing cause of the negative messages some guest wrote about the hotel and their service, “I guess those guest didn’t visit same RIU PALACE MAURITIUS” that I did . I recommend this hotel for everyone, both family and just adults, come and have an amazing experience.

Excellent place. Hotel is one of the best ones we’ve ever visited. Great value for money. Even though the interior design is high end, the whole experience is not pompous or pretentious. Guests are also laid back and came there to enjoy themselves, not to show off. Tasty cuisine (pastries!), professional and friendly staff (especially Victor and Vish). Rooms are spacious, and what’s important, mattresses are really comfy! It was our first visit in a RIU hotel, but we’ll definitely use this hotel chain.

Recently spent 11 nights at this newly refurbished hotel. After a long journey, we were quickly checked in & given an upgraded room with amazing views of the pool, beach & wonderful sunsets. Clean, spacious with a well stocked mini bar. (although we did have to contact reception 3 times one day before we got the promised daily water replenished) The hotel is slightly isolated from the rest of the island & is quite an expensive taxi ride away from civilisation, so perhaps bear this in mind when booking. Amazing beach, though it's often very windy, but as others have mentioned, a short walk to the right will take you to no wind whatsoever, perhaps too hot !! We found the food a little repetitive in the buffet, & at times did struggle to find something we fancied. A la carte restaurants, impossible to book via the app, needs looking at & sorting out pronto ! We did manage to eat in 3 of them however, booking at reception,the Steakhouse being by far the best of these. Asian was fine food wise, but the venue was in a soulless room which was freezing. Now, the Indian, chaos from the word go best sums it up ! Queues of people waiting outside,  all let in at once, mayhem. Buffet as a starter,  set menu for main, which when it eventually was served was bought to the table cold & virtually inedible !! Would expect much more from the Riu Palace brand ! Good selection of drinks, though towards the end of our stay bizarrely some products were unavailable,  poor stock management perhaps ? Big shout out to Guillaume at the Maravanne bar in the evenings. The best barman in the resort by far. Always service with a smile, remembering what our favourite drinks were & keeping us topped up whilst still being able to serve others at the same time. Would also like to mention the lads in the buffet restaurant in the evening, names we can't remember, but they were always smiling & joking with us & of course keeping us topped up with wine. Overall, we had a good time, but felt that some things could definitely be improved upon.

We stayed at the Riu Palace in October 2024, it's easier I think to just summarise the pros and cons to this property. Overall for the price it was definitely worth it. It did not come with the luxury price tag so you can't expect luxury when staying here. Firstly we stayed in the elite club room, I think it is worth the extra money for this, as you get an extra bar, snack place, restaurant, along with late check out, room service and another pool you're allowed to use with cabanas. Although this pool is very cold and not heated like the other. Anyway here is a summary. Pros Good location - Although the beach on the hotel is very windy, if you come out of the hotel on the beach and turn right onto le morne public beach, the wind almost disappears. Very clean - rooms cleaned daily and they're always cleaning up all areas of the hotel Food is plentiful and lots to chose from If anyone from the joining turquoise hotel tried to come into the palace they were swiftly sent back Hotel is truly 24/7 all inclusive and adults only which is actually very rare on the island we found after long research, which is why we chose the riu palace. Staff are friendly and always willing to help with a smile. Rooms are spacious and big. There is entertainment at night however, it's very much the same every night, and kids orientated. Premium liquor in the bar areas. Good location for kite surfers. . Cons Mini bar was only topped up when we asked at reception, everytime they told us they should be doing it daily, they never did. We stayed 10 nights and only had it refilled 3 times. Service in the sit down restaurants is very slow, and they run out of food in them. Riu turquoise guests and kids can get in easily to the palace hotel, although they do get told to leave, they do come back as it is the better side of the hotel. The snack bar by the pool served the same food everyday with no change. The beach that the hotel has chairs on is very very windy and cold, and you can hardly swim in the sea by the hotel, you do have to walk to the public beach round the corner. Only the main swimming pool seemed to be heated, all the others were very cold. Sometimes there was no one serving at the coffee bar, which made waiting times a bit long. You cannot book the restaurants on the app, it does not work, you have to request bookings at reception. Trying to use the app is a waste of time. The gym is very small and had equipment broken There wasn't much entertainment or music around the pools so there wasn't much of a vibe, it was pretty quiet. . . So overall we were happy with the holiday for the price we paid, but I wouldn't go here expecting luxury.

Spend there 10 days at the end of october/beginning of november. What a beautiful place! Nice, renovated hotel, very pleasant staff. Although weather could been better. If you plan to spend holiday on Mauritius, i would definitely recomend this hotel…
