The Gillen House B&B

Not much to add that hasn't been said already. Edward and Cynzia are amazing hosts. Our stay was the result of my father-in-laws passing. Edward and Cynzia couldn't have been more caring, compassionate and patient with us as we navigated through this difficult time. The food was delicious and filling We experienced both a dinner as well as multiple breakfasts. The house and grounds are beautiful and clean. We look forward to staying here again.

Our room was beautifully decorated and had a very comfortable bed. Shower pressure and Wifi were strong! Edward gave us a tour of his beautiful property and shared the history and told us stories about the amazing artwork. Breakfast was delicious. A truly unique and charming experience in a peaceful setting, I highly recommend!

We celebrated our anniversary here. Our host Cynzia and Edward, the Innkeepers were extraordinary host! By the time we departed we felt like good friends. The property is gorgeous and the grounds are well kept! The breakfast was great! If you want some quiet time this is your spot. Athens,Ga is only 30 minutes away with Botanical Gardens and an Art Museum.

We detoured on our way home in order to stay with Edward and Cynzia again. they are wonderful hosts and their B&B one of the best. the entire property is immaculate - sitting outside near the goldfish pond is so restful and the upstairs porch a treat. no need to schlep elsewhere for dinner - Edward is a terrific cook - highly recommend his shrimp and grits. every detail of their B&B is well thought out. we look forward to another stay!

We have booked several Bed and Breakfasts on our many journeys, but this was by far the BEST one we have ever stayed at!!! From the first phone call we made last July 2023 to our stay April 2024, we were VERY impressed with the hosts, Edward and Cynzia. They were great communicators, wonderful hosts and offered exceptional hospitality the entire time we were there. The grounds were immaculate, the house was full of their beautiful art (each piece had its own amazing story), and we were treated like kings and queens! They were always present, offering us drinks and made sure we were totally comfortable. The four guest rooms were WONDERFUL -very clean and up to date with great amenities- and each had their own bathroom. Edward is a phenomenal chef and our breakfasts were delicious. He even offered several choices for dinner (an extra option we highly recommend!) that were exceptional. We would LOVE to return someday and HIGHLY recommend that you book a stay here!

From booking through to check-out, our experience at Gillen House was absolutely top-notch. Edward and Cynzia have lovingly created one of the most special places I've stayed -- and I've traveled all over the world and stayed in luxury five-star hotels, small bed and breakfasts and more. The rooms were beautifully decorated, snacks and drinks were complimentary, with an "honor bar" with wine and cocktails. The setting is gorgeous with plenty of outdoor spaces to sit and relax. Edward and Cynzia's hospitality was superb and we truly can't say enough good things about our visit. All I can say is that I hope I get to visit their little corner of the world again!!
