Le Jardin de Mazan

這個是我們整個法國行程中最大的驚喜，是個民宿，老闆是一對夫婦，對於住慣了星級酒店一開始還有點小失望，但早餐着實驚艷了一把，南法的早晨20幾度，一家人坐在中世紀的小鎮滿是鮮花的庭院裏享受一頓豐盛的法式早餐，這個體驗感可以拉爆。友情提醒，酒店是在一棟中世紀的房子裏，重新做了裝修，很有品味和檔次，但樓梯比較陡，拿行李衹能自己是個挑戰，還有停車要上陡坡，得技術過硬。

Le Jardin de Mazan was fantastic. The owners, who work the large home, Agnes and Aric (sp?) are extremely nice and welcoming. The property is awesome. It takes a minute to find through the narrow streets so take your time. However, once you walk in, the home and grounds are really expansive. The rooms are really large as well as the bathrooms. We toured all the rooms, since there were no other guests coming in that day, and each room is great. Breakfast is served in the large flower garden each morning. You hear all the church bells and birds while enjoying a big, freshly cooked breakfast. The room we stayed in was connected to a reading room and a pool table. It was so cool. I can't say enough about Le Jardin. They close in October but book for next year. The dining recommendations and location is perfect. You'll be super happy you stayed here. Lastly, Aric knows the area well for cyclists and touring so he will point you in the right direction! Enjoy....

Such a lovely place to stay. You will need a small car to go through the narrow gate into the old town of Mazan but Eric and Agnes will make sure you have a place to park. They are superb hosts who really look after their guests and pay attention to all the details. We loved our large room off the Library and played snooker/pool in the evenings. We adored the relaxing garden with a gloriously warm swimming pool. I was straight in to that within an hour of arrival and we used it every day of our May stay. Dinner was cooked by Eric on our first day and was delicious, as was the breakfast served by Agnes. Try Eric's special spiced scrambled eggs. All items were seasonal and local and we loved the way it was varied each morning. The other nights we ate in the town, booked by Agnes and Eric on their recommendations. You will not see many tourists here and it is on the edge of such a great wine area. A base for Gordes, the "Lavender route", Mt Ventoux, the wines of the Vaucluse and the edges of the Luberon.
