Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge

This is awesome hotel. That have 4 restaurants in the property. We can enjoy meals and suevenia shopping all the day in the hotel.

Our overall experience at this hotel was confusing and stressful, due to the lack of guidance and support from the staff. On arrival, we were handed a packet with information, but it was not easy to find a staff member to talk to, and the lines at the front desk were extremely long. The luggage service was particularly stressful. The bags were due out by 7:00 AM on departure day, and at 6:59 AM, the porter knocked on our door for a bag count. He counted our bags, and I asked for 5 more minutes to get the bags out, but he sternly insisted we only had 1 minute left. Rushed, I quickly closed the bags and put them outside at 7:00, only to find him already walking away, counting other bags in the hallway and upstairs. Our bags, along with all the others, were left sitting outside the doors. While I understand the importance of sticking to a schedule, it was completely unnecessary to create such stress. When we left our room at 7:30, the bags were still in the hallway, making his unfriendly attitude and sense of urgency feel entirely unjustified. Guests should be encouraged to relax and they should know that the staff is there to help. On a positive note, the restaurant staff at the lodge were excellent—attentive, polite, and genuinely helpful, which provided some relief from the otherwise frustrating experience. I would recommend avoiding this mass-hording hotel and opting for a more personal and welcoming experience elsewhere.

Semi rustic, No Frig, internet is scatchy We are on the last tour of the season Temps in the low 40’s My first cruise and Denali tour, though this was going to be by train. As Advertised. But you only take the train from the ship to your first lodge. Everything else is by Bus. I’m disappointed. The drive through Denali is in old Blue Bird Buses, no rest rooms on the bus.

We want to thank Cheryl and Juliana for taking care of our accommodations, they were very thoughtful and considerate of our needs. Both of these ladies went above and beyond to help us and were very gracious. I would recommend staying at this lodge just because of their kindness. Also the food at the Alpenglow was delicious and our servers also were considerate.

I had hopes that the resort would echo the Princess standard of quality it did not. The lodge is in need of a major renovation. The beds were very uncomfortable and lumpy. The bedding was very light weight and rough. The thing that bothered me most was the carpet was filthy. I get that you are in a park and people hike. We were there at the end of the season too. Even with taking that into consideration it was a poor refection on Princess. The furniture is stained and worn bear. The tables were stained, dirty and sticky. They don’t get wiped up as often as they should. The whole resort deserves a total overhaul to be worthy of the Princess reputation.

This was a HORRIBLE hotel experience from beginning to end. After calling 3 times to communicate our delayed arrival due to airline delays and then renting car and driving, we arrived at 11:00 p.m. at night. We had 4 rooms for family traveling together. One of the rooms was so dirty and ransacked, food on tables, beds more than slept in, trash all over so we had to go back to front desk and request new room. Moved to a new room and the sink could not drain. I asked for some kind of compensation after being charged $535.00 per night for room. The supervisor wouldn't even come out to see me. I finally got a voucher for one breakfast. SAD! When we went to check out, my husband came to pick up my handicapped and elderly 82 year old aunt and uncle. The transportation supervisor, Derrik told him he had to park in the parking lot. We explained they couldn't walk that far and they were waiting at the door, it would take less than 5 minutes and there were NO busses there. He was more than rude and one of his female employees told us "Go cry me a river" when we asked for some empathy. The management was just horrible here. Then the charge of $535.00 for a 1987 dated and old room that was so dirty and past its prime was RIDICULOUS! DON'T STAY HERE! They do not care about guests, customer service or the fact that tourists pay their living.

Wasn’t of the quality I’d expect. No fridge or microwave. Room was 2 beds, TV, 2 chairs and loveseat. Had to go downstairs for more linens. Climate system didn’t work well. However, the transportation system was good. Property shuttle. Shuttle to railroad and bus depot. National park shuttle. Shuttles for most activities came to the lodge. Customer service was poor. Had to ask several different people what to do on last day of our stay. We booked through Alaska Travel and not as part of the cruise package

No customer service at all. We just checked in and were supposed to be booked in a king bed and facing the Danali mountain. We are in a room with two full beds facing a tree. At the check in we confirmed our bed and view we booked and the person who checked us in stepped away to double check everything. She confirmed our room was correct. Then when we got to our room it is nothing like what we booked. This is so similar to everything we are getting from Princess so far. We have not been on our cruise yet but the phone customer service has been the worst! You can get a different answer to your questions every time you call them. Why is it so hard to actually give a customer what they booked???

Pros: comfortable beds, Disneyland style village with access to several nice, convenient restaurants like King Salmon and Fannie Qs. Fun shopping including a nicely stocked store, water-refilling stations and convenient bus pickup for the tours. Bus drivers were pleasant and helpful with questions. Cons: the staff behind the Princess Lodge desk must be exasperated with repeat questions from guests since they were repeatedly quite rude to several people in our party of ten. The water faucets ran slightly brown water which was a bit disturbing but acceptable for washing and bathing.
