Hotel Colonial de Merida

Very well located in the middle of town. Personnel was friendly and helpfull.

酒店位於市中心，位置非常好。我們入住酒店的經驗非常差，訂的是有2張雙人床的雙人房，依網站照片看是有個大窗同露台，但給予的是雙人床房。接待我們的人很粗魯亦不願意幫忙換房，不斷"No，No，No"。我們雙方都有各自的訂房文件，就是不一樣。花了差不多一個小時聯絡上酒店的中介，即Trip.com 發單給予的當地旅遊公司，說是Trip.com 的問題，給予錯誤資料⋯⋯ 又再花了一段時間，最後我們訂的三天，頭兩天被安排一個在閣樓的三人房，有一個打不開向天井的小窗，感覺很可憐；第三天要換房，這是我們訂的房型，但那個冷氣是壞的，廁所亦很怪，差不多要跨過坐廁才可到淋漓區。

Excellent todo, buena ubicación y personal con buena atención

Wow!  The "New" Hotel Colonial is great!  It’s not really new.  It is still in the heart of downtown Mêrida near everything  but it has been remodeled. Everything is bright and new.   The hotel restaurant is still here (remodeled a few years ago) and still serving an excellent buffet from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm. PS. Great to stay at a family owned and operated hotel. Hurricane Milton blew here yesterday and today. The owner and his daughter made sure we had what we needed to be safe, secure, and fed.

We had a very good experience at this hotel. The staff was very friendly. Pros: Price Location Clean Parking ( 2 blocks away) Cons: No ironing board No hair dryer We had to request and signed items out. I would recommend this hotel; excellent value for our money.

I don't understand how this hotel is a 4 star hotel. It was the noisiest hotel ever. Make sure that the room you get as high off the street as possible. We felt that our bed was directly on the sidewalk. The bathroom smelled of sewer and the hot water takes a while to reach your shower. Bathrooms are also very dingy. With that said, the cleaning crew does a fantastic job of cleaning your room and reception staff are great.

We were very disappointed in our stay in this hotel. We’ve stayed at many hotels, and this one just kept disappointing. The room is very noisy, it pretty much sounds like the people on the street and in the hallways of the hotel are IN your room. The bathroom is very simple and not well maintained, and if you’re tall you can’t have a normal seat on the toilet (the wall is so close to the toilet). The staff hardly greets you when you walk past the front desk. I think they’re just really good at taking pictures for ***********; especially of the pool (which was a disappointment too).

Stayed 2 nights here. Here are the pros and cons. PROS * LOCATION - The Zocalo is only a couple of hundred meters up the road so this was in prime location. The central ado bus station was within walking distance although for memory was about a kilometre and a half walk so you may want to consider a taxi. * AIR CONDITIONING - Worked well * HOT WATER - Worked * WIFI - Worked and didn’t drop out CONS * NO NATURAL LIGHT - Our room had one window which opened onto the communal corridor so there was no natural light. This was not advertised at time of booking. * SECURITY - The large window that opened onto the communal corridor couldn’t be locked. This meant when we were out of the room someone could easily just open it up and get into our room. I was very uncomfortable with this and made reception aware. They sent someone up to fix it but it wasn’t fixed when we returned. I noted the room opposite ours had the same issue when I tested its window. * NOT CLEAN - When we went to use the pool there was a thick algae bloom and scum on the surface. It was not swimmable. * NOISE - This hotel seems to have a relationship with large tour operators. As such large groups of people come in the afternoon and leave early in the morning. They made a lot of noise in the mornings when they would leave and this went through the walls. Overall we weren’t happy with our stay and wouldn’t recommend this to others.

Standard hotel at a great location. Just a short walk away from the main square and several eating options. Rather old facilities, but clean. Friendly staff that speaks English. A bit of a limited breakfast buffet if you don’t fancy tacos and beans in the morning. Major downside was the noise in the hotel. It seemed like the walls are thina as paper and you can hear absolutely everything going on all hours of the day.
