River Run Bed and Breakfast

The photos and reviews do not do this place justice. It is absolutely gorgeous and has so much character. It was the little things - from the wall paper and halloween decorations in the common areas to the homemade breakfast muffins and fire pit access in the evenings. The house is warm, cozy, comfortable and has everything one might need for a beautiful getaway not too far from the city. The fall foliage was stunning; I can't wait to go back and have a brand new experience in the spring or summer. The hosts were extremely communicative and accommodating. Everything went smoothly and easily. I savored literally every minute of my time at River Run. 10/10 highly recommend!

Perfect place for a cozy and sleepy weekend. Lucky to have come on the night of a live acoustic set, then spent the next day in Woodstock which was less than an hour's drive away. Heirlooms and knick-knacks always put me ease, since they let me know a place has been really tended to. River Run's filled with them. The innkeeper Ben made the stay easy and low-pressure, and had tips ready when we asked about history, the town, and trails nearby. A little surreal to get breakfast in bed right to our room! I love to bake and enjoy people's recipes, so fresh quiche and muffins during breakfast were a delight. Like other people have said, it's a welcoming and warm spot for LGBTQ visitors too.

From the moment we walked in until the moment we left we could not have had a better experience! This was our first time ever in a bed and breakfast, and Ben welcomed us as if we were part of his family! We were in town for a wedding at Spillians, and stayed Friday through Sunday in the Delaware room. King bed was comfy, pillows wonderful. Ben gave us extra towels and shampoo. We sat outside in the "back yard" reading Friday afternoon, and Ben walked all the way out to hand us the breakfast menu for the next morning. He was a wealth of info about the living room area with the antiques there. He recommended places to eat (we ate pizza lunch at Oakleys (good) , dinner at La Cabana (just okay) and the next day walked to Goatie Whites for salads. (very good.) Breakfast at River Run was really good. We opted to eat in the dining room area, and Ben delivered trays right to us exactly a the time we picked. The French toast (Saturday) and onion quiche (Sunday) were very good. Also had the fresh fruit - Saturday was pineapple and Sunday was watermelon/cantelope balls.). Bagel was fine. We never had a problem parking in front. I would highly recommend this establishment if ever in the area.

Truly a magical experience. We came for a wedding and could not have been happier with our experience. Very LGBTQ friendly; we felt welcomed and safe. The owner offers exceptional hospitality and happens to have a mini history museum in the parlor- ask about the portraits! Rooms and bathroom in great condition, and breakfast is excellent.

We were in town to celebrate a friend's wedding and found this wonderful place to unwind with a gracious host, a nice breakfast, classic bedrooms, and a beautiful front porch to hang in with friends. Highly recommended.

My partner and I had a lovely time here! The innkeeper was friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast was made fresh. There's even a creek out back if you want to take a dip, and board games in the common area! Highly recommended :)
