We could not get into our favourite nearby Hotel, this had availability. Positives: Grounds lovely Most staff good if not excellent. But We stayed for two nights, we requested 'turn down' service, just got in one night. The room furniture, shabby chic and odds and ends. Breakfast both days took a very long time between courses. Second day, Waiting Staff, she not impressed we moved table, only one had been sitting there. Had to ask for vegetarian menu. Order wrong...ordered porridge got pastries, ordered mushroom omelette with tomato and herbs, when delivered asked where the mushrooms were, you only get one! It should have or. Glad weather nice for us,if wet, bit stuck. Gave it low star, for the price and added 15% service charge, we wanted perfection. Compared to our preferred Hotel which is 5 star the price difference not much. No mobile phone signal, could contact via What's App. I believe it is marketed for 'townies' as rural life, we like dogs, not everybody does.

This hotel is highly overrated. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is excellent as is the food. But the hotel itself, while nice in some areas is downright shabby in others. Beware of climbing two steep staircases to access rooms on the second floor which is actually the third floor. Also, this place is peaceful, granted, but very remote and it appears there is only one taxi driver in the area. He is great, but touring became more of when he was available instead of your desired touring schedule! Would not return!!

We had lunch there today with friends. The food was truly sublime, every mouthful a delight. We were at Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir a few weeks back and it’s not a patch on Hotel Endsleigh. The staff were, as ever, charming and professional and always willing to chat. Truly our favourite destination.

We stayed three nights in October, 2024. The stay was excellent. When you go in to reception and along one passage the place looks a little worn but the the public areas and our room ( #1) were in excellent shape. The meals and service were remarkable, especially considering the location is not close to a population base. The grounds , with lots of paths in the woods and gardens are a great way to spend hours on end. A wonderful stay.

Superb lunch, excellent service, elegant decor and glorious grounds and countryside. We were also blessed with brilliant sunshine, and able to walk in the extensive and beautifully maintained gardens. We've been here many times and it is still by far our favourite.

Had a fantastic meal with our best friends on Friday evening, they have been a few times as they live local. This was the best set meal I’ve had in a long time. Amazing food and service from the table staff to the wine waiter. The feeling of the place is utter relaxation and class. I’d recommend this to anyone who wants to eat and drink well. Must try a stay next time!!! Fantastic place 😊

We went to Hotel Ensleigh to experience having a coffee followed by lunch. We were not disappointed. We had a nice coffee in the lounge soaking in the atmosphere of this beautiful old building and looking out onto the serene gardens. It was peaceful and relaxing. All the staff were absolutely lovely to us and it was a pleasure to see how well groomed they all looked. I even went and had a nice chat to the florist who was working his magic on flower arrangements around the hall and lounge. The dining rooms had beautiful table settings, white napery, fresh flowers and lamps on each table. Lunch was delicious, and the desert was exquisite. The prices were reasonable considering the standard of the food. The whole experience was exceptional.

Awful experience with Endsleigh. My baby shower was being organised by my sister and friend back in June, which unfortunately had to be rearranged due losing our grandad very suddenly. We were told we could not change the date at first and could not have our deposit back as it had already gone into their bank account… We were then told we could rebook a different date with our deposit still in tact which we did, but were soon told the date we wanted was double booked so couldn’t have it and would have to pay another deposit to secure a different date. Very confusing being told different things, clearly the staff don’t communicate properly. I’m appalled with the lack of empathy shown by the reception staff dealing with the situation, I really expected better and have been left very disappointed. We have now chosen to take our custom elsewhere!

Two wonderful lunches on consecutive days with two different friends. The food is so delicious and is cooked with imagination and skill - congratulations to the chef and his/her team. Excellent value. Delightful staff. A wonderful setting and it was so lovely to eat while watching the swallows swooping low over the lawn on two idyllic English summer days. One small thing - the maitre d's desk by the entrance to the dining room just gets in the way and it makes one feel awkward shimmying behind it to get through. Thank you Team Endsleigh for a lovely experience.
