I previously gave the County Clare a 5 star review for the 3 other times I have stayed at this small quaint Milwaukee Inn. This time I give it ZERO stars. My review now is STAY AWAY. My most recent experience - which I am still in the middle of -- is so horrible that it is Kafka-esque. I cannot believe I let a HOTEL treat me so abusively. Here is what happened: I checked in at 8 am even though I paid for my room starting the night before, which I thought was flexible of me. When I arrived, I could tell that the woman at the front desk was confused because at first she told me that "my room was not ready." I politely answered (after a night of no sleep) that my room has to be ready because I started paying for it the previous afternoon, literally 18 hours earlier. She seemed flustered, corrected herself, and gave me a room. But I did not feel confident that my room was in the system. Later in the day, I noticed that my keys stopped working. One of my keys never worked at all, and the other stopped working each time I left the hotel. I had to return to the front desk every time I left my room, no matter what kind of rush I was in. Each time I asked for a new key, I was told without any doubt that I had demagnetized the key by keeping it close to my phone or my wallet. Each time I explained that I kept the key by itself in a zippered pocket in my shorts without anything else so the key was not demagnetized. It was turned off. Later that night I was out to dinner with the 10 or 12 relatives to had returned to Milwaukee for a family reunion, and found myself locked out late at night. Even though the bar was winding down, there were a few people eating and drinking in the back, and I had to ask them to please swipe the door so I could get in. I did not like interrupting their night but I even more so did not want to sleep on the street. Fortunately the bartender was still there, and he made me a new key. But by then I was pretty traumatized. I am traveling alone and staying at an inn that closes down every night between 10 pm and midnight (mostly at 10), and they refuse to fix my key situation. Literally, it is impossible to get into the hotel after 10 or 11 PM if your key does not work. So it is pretty unpleasant. The following morning I woke up for their "breakfast" and saw that there was not ONE item for vegans or people who are lactose intolerant. They did not even have non-dairy creamer for coffee, which is ubiquitous virtually everywhere else. I asked like 10 times because it seemed inconceivable to me that they wouldn't have the little packets of nondairy creamer. But they didn't. When I asked why not, they said with pride that they are the only hotel that chooses not to accommodate vegans and lactose-intolerant people, who actually comprise the majority of our planet's population. This really was nothing to be proud of. And I feel horrible but I really needed coffee, so for the first time in FIVE YEARS I poured milk into my c
