Casa Divina Eco Lodge

Efrain and his staff made our entire experience a delight. They cooked us amazing meals (we weren’t going to eat there every meal until we had our first lunch!). It’s gorgeous and their passion for the environment shines. It was more than a place to sleep, it was a major part of our magical experience in Ecuador.

Casa divina is the most beautiful lodge and a perfect getaway in Mindo. It is nestled right in the cloud forest so you can do bird watching from your balcony. The property is absolutely fantastic and the staff are so welcoming. The dinner and breakfast are fantastic. Highly reccomend for a relaxing stay in Mindo.

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Divina. The property is large and right in the cloud forest so you can enjoy fully immersing into nature. The included breakfast was delicious. The room itself was comfortable with plenty of space and clean. It’s a convenient short walk to the teleférico where you can then easily access the cable car to great hiking trails. We would take taxis into town which were easily available and very cheap. We really enjoyed the attentive service provided by Lady.

While the accommodation itself is comfortable, the place is far out of the main village, along a very muddy track, and we didn't get very good vibes from the owner, who did not seem very interested in client satisfaction when adding an extra dollar to the bill for a piece of toast we had asked for at breakfast, even though she knew very well that we had already paid for the next day"s breakfast and were not having it as we had an early start. There are plenty of other good options in Mindo especially if you want to walk to and from the village without using taxis (which are cheap enough, but we like walking). Also, by the way, if you do book here, do it through booking, and not directly through them, as booking will give you your money back if you cancel, whereas they will not. Definitely would not stay here again!

This place feels like a tropical oasis the minute you enter the property. I’m talking about lush, green, vibrant landscaping surrounding the lodge. You immediately feel like you are in another world, especially if you are coming in from Quito. There is a stream that runs through the property so there is constant white noise, which I loved. And if you wake up early enough, you can hang out at the rooftop and watch all the colorful bird life out and about. It’s a feast for the eyes and ears. The rooms themselves were also equally beautiful. You can tell everything was thoughtfully placed and handcrafted. The rooms had a log cabin meets tropical feel to it. There is an immediate sense of peace that you can feel once you enter the room for the first time. It was much needed change in scenery for my fiancé and I after hectic, but fun, Quito adventures. While everything was beautiful, I think the highlight of this place is the staff. The staff were super attentive and were always available to answer any questions. Shout out to Marta, the cook. I am a huge meat eater, and even I was amazed at the chefs vegetarian dishes. The food served here is local and the quality of the food is amazing, and healthy to boot! Not very easy to do.

What a truly magical place Casa Divina is! From the moment we arrived, we were treated in such a warm and welcoming way that we immediately felt at home. The staff was most attentive and informative. The food was cooked from scratch and most delicious. The cabin was beautiful and the very large bathrooms were an unexpected treat. Staff was always available in the gorgeous main lodge to answer any of our questions and make fabulous recommendations with so much to do. The upstairs loft area proved to be so delightful as we watched many incredible species of birds in an open air but protected setting with our morning coffee. This resort excels in service and beauty and I would highly recommend it to anyone planning a visit to beautiful Mindo in the future.
