Spark by Hilton Minot

Average. Three stars overall and four stars for the price which is good value for what you get. I honestly think this hotel has great potential and can become much better. Sink is outside the bathroom and no hock for the towel by the sink. The sink does not drain properly. Location of the hotel is good. The room did not smell great once we entered but we were tired after our long drive so we did not want to ask for another. Anyway, not a bad deal after all for its price.

This hotel should be named Sparse instead of Spark. Very clean but room (king with sofa) was so tiny, it was claustrophobic. Bathroom was just big enough for tub and commode—lavatory was within the sleeping room. Room would be perfect for one person but too small for two people. The other unusual thing was there was a pending charge that was $100 more than the room! I stay 95% exclusively Hilton, and have never had a $100 above the room charge added. Of course, the $100 wasn’t charged after settlement, but it seemed outrageously high compared to my other hotel stays. Never had more than $25 before unless I was booking with points only, and that pending charge was only $50. I think my next visit to the area will not be a stay at Spark.

Continental breakfast consisted of a muffin and bagels and bagels. That’s it! False advertising! They have not changed. It has been one year and the complaint still stands. Fix your Hilton! And the last reviewer was told it would be corrected. It isn’t.

I stopped here on the way back home from the beautiful Canadian Rockies due to having free National Park access for their 150 year anniversary and am very glad to have done so. It ended up being a long, rainy day driving from Calgary and staying at Sierra Inn was like an oasis. The gentleman behind the desk was super friendly and kind. My room was spacious and clean, with a microwave and refrigerator. Tv worked fine, although I didn't watch it much. The breakfast was fine, with fruit, orange juice, coffee, waffles, etc. The price was very very reasonable for what you get: $60.00/tax included. It appears to be the best hotel in Minot for what you get. They could rightfully charge twice as much. I can say this place is beautiful, fairly recently remodeled😁. It's a pretty easy one and a half hour drive from Portal, the entry port of the United States. Overall, due to super nice working staff, great rooms, good breakfast and great price, I would return here again without a doubt when in transit to Canada!!!! A piece of crust and one piece of white bread, some tiny powder and chocolate donuts, 2 green bananas and some apples. A choice of 4 kids cereals and waffle maker but i didnt see the mix. Some white milk (i didnt trust the age of it so i didnt have any) OJ and coffee. Now the hotel was lovely, I think it is brand new. I was trying to figure out why it was rated so low. Now i know. Don’t advertise breakfast if you don’t have one. For the price it was really nice accommodations.

Nice room, clean. Low price. Minot has numerous hotel rooms built for the latest oil boom in 2015. No protein for breakfast. Comfortable bed. Did not use pool but kids seemed to like it. Minot is a nice size town. Restaurant near hotel has a 50’s theme and German food and malts.
