We booked a week long stay at Windancer #406 after calling Ocean Reef directly. Here's what we liked about the unit: - The unit is in good (not great) condition. There wasn't anything that was dirty or too out of date. - The unit was stocked with plenty of clean bath towels which is always nice when you check in to the unit. - My family previously rented a 1 BR with the bunk beds built into the main hallway (I assume similar layout to the 1 BR units at Windancer). My kids are older now and they really enjoyed the loft rooms upstairs. My son had the queen in the open loft section and my daughter took one of the twin beds in the second BR upstairs. They also had a full bathroom upstairs though it was a little cramped. - The listing wasn't clear, but there is a Washer/Dryer in-unit in the hallway on the main floor. It's on the small side, but worked just fine for our one week stay. - The balcony had an over-abundance of chairs. So we moved some plastic Adirondack chairs inside, under the stairs so it wasn't so cramped. During our stay, the balcony never got full sun at any point during the day, but it gives you a clear view of the pool and the beach and gulf. - The beach is very nice and right past the gate are bathrooms so you don't have to go all the way back to your unit which is convenient. - The pool is nice and clean and used by many of the guests. We had some cooler weather during our stay, so my son enjoyed playing in the pool when the ocean was too choppy and it was too windy on the beach. - There's some decent options near the condo. My wife was sick during our trip so she was a regular at the CVS which was two blocks away. We had dinner at Carrabba's Italian in the outlet mall across the street. We made one stop to the Winn Dixie around the corner to stock up on groceries when we first arrived and if you want some fast food, Whataburger, Five Guys and Chick Fil A are all right there as well. If you're a coffee lover, the Starbucks is right across the street at the outlet mall as well. Finally, if you need souvenirs and trinkets, Alvin's Island has a location right around the corner. Unless you wanted to fight the traffic and head towards Destin area, we could've done everything we wanted to within a 6 block radius. - We went during spring break which is not the high season for the area. The other units were largely families on spring break with a few snow birds who were likely long-term rentals. It was quiet and respectful on the beach which is nice when you're on a family trip with minors. Here's what could have been better: - The unit is directly outside the elevator door and the Master Bedroom where we stayed is right in front. So during our stay, we weren't awakened by any loud noises or people stumbling out of the elevator, but if you are a light sleeper or don't want to be that close to the one elevator servicing the unit, you may want to steer clear. - The Master Bedroom has extra large size furniture which was comfortable to sle
