Aqi Skanes Resort

Had a week here this July for a large - 22 people - 'last' family holiday before kids and adults alike go their own ways. Whilst yes the hotel feels a little outdated and tired in places, Tunisia is not sharm or the Mayan coast..if you're expecting 5 star gilt everything then you'll be disappointed. However the staff are incredible, the hotel is absolutely fine, the food is good enough AI, the drinks range is limited but adequate, the pools are clean and large enough, and the facilities are sufficient for having a decent holiday. The team at the wunderbar were superb - shout out to Anis who remembered a pretty long drinks order and was always there with a refill. I'm also going to shout out Aladdin the TUI rep - very knowledgeable and accommodating..messaging me at 22:00 with updates to dive trips All in all, a great first trip to Tunisia.

My family had a fabulous time at AQI Skanes. The room was kept clean and the cleaner was aware of our schedule and roughly what time we left the room. The bar staff are very attentive, always on the ball. You dont need to worry about an empty glass! They have a wide variety of food and different themes each night. My daughter loved the pool and slides. The life guards were always aware of the kids. Hedi at the relax pool saved her life one day, I was so grateful. She also loved kids club and mini disco. The staff here were second to none and we have travelled often. I Would like to thank each and everyone of them for making our 2 week summer holiday amazing!

This hotel is outstanding, the staff here are all amazing and very friendly. There are so many activities available during the day and night organised by the amazing animation team. The animation team was so friendly especially Chris, Mahdi, Sam and Alice. They were always there to help and to get you involved. The cuisine was amazing too the food was delicious and there was so much choice. The nightlife was so inclusive too for the kids and for adults there was so much to do, but particularly the animation team was just brilliant and i would definitely come back again.

We we're  a party of 5 and stayed for 11 nights in September. There is a serious lack of toiletries in the bathroom. Only two tiny round soaps were provided and there was some time of foam showergel on the wall (which barely had anything in and wasn't refilled) 3/5 of us had bad diarrhea for several days due to the food. This was reported to Tui via complaints and all they had to say was they're sorry we're unwell!! (We have NEVER been ill on holiday previously and we travel at least annually) I would suggest for Brits not to eat salads or uncooked foods, I've now taken to heating food from the buffet in the lil microwave at the baby corner,  just to make sure it's piping hot. The staff were mostly nice, although the lobby bar barista (chunky guy with gray hair) was permanently miserable! Not a flicker or crack of a smile in sight. As people have mentioned the room furniture is tired/old but at least it's clean. Apparently next year the hotel is getting a whole refurb. The tea bags and sugars in the room were never replenished nor were the mugs ever washed! So bring a sponge and washing liquid or swap out the mugs at breakfast. I would not recommend the excursions with ALIBABA, they felt dirty and extremely low budget. None were as long as advertised, you'll need to minus at least 1-1.5 hours for the transport times and waiting around times. There were often unpleasant smells, heaps of flies and litter around on these excursions. I would 100% not do any again. The transport for two of these excursions were dirty vans/coaches with no seat belts. On the excursion for camel riding, they take pictures and if you have your phone in your hand when going to look at the picture they assume your taking pictures of the photos and come shouting in your face to delete the picture repeatedly, this would be very threatening for a lot of women! It was so sad and gross to see the amount of litter on the streets and throughout the land. But at least at the resort was lovely and clean everywhere. The hotels private beach area is gorgeous and clean, they always have hotel security around and they are excellent. The private beach area is well maintained too, but if you start walking down the beach you will begin to see some ramshackle areas and lots of litter sadly. I paid for a pedicure at the hotel spa and would not recommend it at all, she soaked my feet for 5 minutes and then exfoliated and lotioned them within 10 mintues. The whole treatment was less then 15 minutes and it should have been at least double that!! The gym is really decent and overlooks the beach which is the best view ever, but can get busy at times when there is tennis tournaments going on as the players stay at the resort. The pools were lovely and clean, water slides were alright too but the steps need to be refurbished really. Apparently you are allowed to use the tennis courts but you must have your own rackets and balls. Which we didn't realise and my teens were very

Good hotel and family stay. I been there for 07 night. Nice stuff. Animation is the best one and we'll done all animation team. I recommend Beach swim in early morning. The pool is not crowded and all family enjoyed the stay. Well done skanes team.
