Montaldo Castle & Resort

We have just had an amazing meal at Restaurant Crotin. We were greeted by an extremely polite and very professional young man called Abdul. We asked for his advice in choosing the best wine to go with our meal and he was extremely knowledgeable and suggested wine that went perfectly. I’m English and although I’ve lived in Italy for 10 years I sometimes struggle with the language, our waiter was very polite and patient, well mannered and professional at all times. He was very quick to take our order and our food arrived in no time at all. The quality of the food in this restaurant is top notch!! I’ve just had the Plin, the sea bass and the pears in wine for desert. All absolutely amazing. A very high end luxury restaurant with great staff. A real asset to the hotel ‘Castello Montaldo’.

We spent 4 nights in the hotel. Upon arrival, you will find out that the parking lot and the reception are quite far from each other and no one will help you with your suitcases. We were warmly welcomed at the reception and we were given a free upgrade to a suite, which pleased us, but the room was not much. Although the room was very spacious, the equipment was really outdated and not in good condition. The whirlpool in the room was moldy, there was a lack of towels in the room and they were not replenished at the back. On the penultimate day, no one even came to clean the room and change the towels The staff didn't speak much English, but some didn't speak Italian either. The breakfast was very average, rather bad, the coffee never arrived. The indoor pool was very small and there were no hand pools available. no one was available to help you. The outdoor spa was nice. If you wanted to order a drink by the outdoor pool, it was very difficult to get a waiter. The same waiter then served dinners. we had the feeling that he is the only waiter in the whole hotel. We will definitely not return to the hotel, we were really disappointed. What's good - location - 20 minutes by car to Turin.

One has to be aware to stay in a building that is not less than 1000 years old(!). However, none of the things that make a stay incredibly beautiful is missing. We enjoyed every second, from dawn ‘til dusk and from dusk ‘til dawn. It starts with a nice breakfast where …(her name follows – I can’t find the piece of paper, where it is written… ;-) …) serves an excellent Italian coffee. During the day, the Piemonte region invites for activities and the nearby city of Torino wants to be explored. The hotel’s restaurant is formidable, and the spa area is state-of-the-art (one of the highlights: outdoor sauna with a window, overseeing the landscape and furnished with a real wood oven) – with excellent treatments (specifically to mention: massages by Michela and Enzo). If something shall be corrected or if there is a question, the reception desk is always there with extremely nice staff.

Luci ed ombre , abbiamo cenato pernottato e il giorno dopo usufruito della SPA dove abbiamo fatto un percorso guidato con un operatore. Cena voto 6- , purtroppo la tagliata con cottura media bruciata all'esterno e' una piatto impresentabile e invece l'avete presentato. Stanze 6 : pulita con arredamento minimal , letto comodo bagno ampio anche se si notano incurie come ruggine alla base della doccia e cosa che mi ha lasciato allibito l'assenza di prese vicino al letto , copriletto macchiato non si puo' vedere , se la macchia non si toglie il copriletto si butta. Percorso sensoriale e SPA direi 8 con gran merito di ENZO che e' stata la.vera nota positiva del soggiorno, bravo simpatico e preparato. Molto belle le tinozze con acqua calda e sauna sulle mura con panorama .

Bisogna differenziare le varie esperienze del weekend.. A bbiamo usufruito del pacchetto romantic,l'esperienza nell'insieme è stata molto bella ..il personale nella spa nell'hotel e nel ristorante super gentile e preparato,location molto pulita. L'hotel essendo un 4 stelle dovrebbe fare più attenzione ai dettagli, l'idea che uno si fa entrando nelle camere è di un posto" vecchio",si capisce che il personale fa il meglio che può con quello che ha.. ma gli investitori dovrebbero curare meglio alcuni aspetti Stesso discorso per la colazione ,buona a buffet resa eccezionale dal personale ma ma mancava di qualcosa.. Spa pulitissima l' operatrice che ci ha guidato nel percorso è stato preparata e molto brava ( non ricordi il nome era il 12/9 alle 15),ovviando anche alla mancanza del bagno turco ,rotto,offrendoci un altra esperienza in acqua,super. Brave le ragazze del massaggio Andrea e barbara. Ristorante buono mangiare abbondante

Che dire…TUTTO MERAVIGLIOSO dal percorso benessere agli spazi interni ed esterni dove gli operatori sono stati efficienti gentili e preparati… per finire in bellezza… un massaggio di coppia effettuato da ENZO “a me” e da ELISA “a mio marito” tutti e due STREPITISI merita proprio farselo un bel massaggio da loro GRAZIE PER QUESTA GIORNATA STUPENDA! TORNEREMO PRESTO ❤️
