So first the noise. There is no sound proofing in the building so all movements from surrounding rooms can be heard - showers, scraping chairs, shutters and windows and doors banging. The hotel tips bottles into a skip c6am each morning which serves as an unwelcome alarm clock. The builfing is a U shape and all the inner rooms look out to a building site with hammering and drilling so after interrupted nights there us also no chance of a daytime rest. Secondly the room was quite dark and oppressive orange, matched with dark wood furniture from the 1930s. The fridge didn't work and the rainfall shower was just a drip, leaving only a handheld shower. Very basic shower gel, one tiny soap for a week and small thin rags for towels. Breakfast was poor, little fresh fruit and had to buy some cereal from the supermarket as only cornflakes and cocopops were available. The food at the set evening meals was good, but not enough vegetables for my liking. The staff are friendly and helpful but, sadly, this does not make up for the many downsides of staying here.
