Hotel Parma e Oriente Wellness & Spa

A special hotel in Montecatini. The Hotel Parma e Oriente has been our home for last last 6 nights. It’s a lovely hotel situated a short walk from the town centre in a quiet street not far from Terme Tettucio and the funicular to Montecatini Alto. The food served as part of the half board option is fantastic and changes daily, incorporating Italian Classic dishes and local specialities. There is a reasonably priced wine list and the local wines are both fantastic and good value. The garden and pool are well kept and very pleasant. The Hotel offers a spa service including massage which we would highly recommend. We tried both the sports and relaxation massage and were very impressed. There is a family feel to the hotel and the owners are very visible and involved in the daily operations. I would highly recommend the hotel and would not hesitate to come back.

Cozy family hotel at a beautiful quiet spot with relaxing garden and great swimming pool (surrounded by Mediterranean and tropical plants). The owners invested in an unbelievable beautiful modern part of the hotel, offering junior suites and suites. Very elegant, a good mixture of traditional Tuscan interior design and hyper-modern technology and modern styling. Very luxurious with access to the private spa!

We recently stayed June 2nd-6th. A Most Beautiful Hotel tucked away in a quiet side street of Montecatini. All staff extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful … Julia ( Reception ) Marco & Emiliano ( Restaurant Management) all warm & kind….apologies for not getting everyone’s name .. but the small workforce including Kitchen & Cleaning staff very pleasant & hardworking & look happy . Outside pool area like Garden of Eden…an Oasis of well cared for potted plants, palms , trees, with lush lawn for a few sunbeds on to relax.. Food plenty and great variety of freshly prepared salads, cheese, cold meats etc for breakfast with choice of hot too. Waiter service Excellent.. made to feel special…. Thank you All for looking us !!… Well Done!…. We Absolutely Loved our stay & and will be back! Kim & Karl

This is a really beautiful hotel. Rooms are comfortable, cleaned every day, towels (large and luxurious) are changed every day. There is plenty of comfortable seating, chairs and settees, in the hotel, and also outside. Staff are friendly and very helpful. The hotel is well situated for train stations, the funicular, and the Terme.. The only problem is the food. Breakfast is ok, (but avoid the eggs, which must have been prepared at about 0630). The evening meals were not ok. On our first night, it was crowded because of a tour party. After placing our orders, it took 50 minutes for the first course to arrive; not what I had ordered (gnocchi). I was told that they’d run out of that, so what I got was penne with a sticky tomato sauce, which ( the sauce) made several more appearances during our week’s stay. Other meals followed the same unsatisfactory pattern, a pity as they promote themselves as traditional Tuscan cuisine. If they could just get the food right, it would get 5 stars. We stayed here for 5 nights and had a good stay Pros: Room charming, spotlessly clean, cleaned very efficiently every day Hotel has lovely comfortable common areas - comfy sofas in the lobby, and also out on the terrace. The pool was closed, which was fine - there is not a lot of space to sit around it in the sun but we found a little sun trap every day which was lovely. Staff - very friendly and helpful Situation - conveniently situated to get to the station for days out to Florence/Lucca or just to wander around the town Cons: Food - was very disappointing. For a hotel which had been marketing itself on traditional Tuscan food, it was very mediocre - rather too much like school dinners. Pastries stale at breakfast, eggs cooked to oblivion Restaurant service - often very slow, especially one evening when a large tour group was staying. I’d thoroughly recommend staying here but maybe eat elsewhere - there are lovely bakeries in town for breakfast and Gina’s Trattoria had amazing food very reasonably priced.

A lovely hotel. All the staff are great, friendly and helpful. The rooms are cleaned daily. The food is cooked fresh daily. I can’t comment on the pool as we didn’t get to use it, but it looks lovely. The bar drinks are reasonably priced too. I would add I would have preferred tea/coffee making facilities in the room, but there weren’t. Montecatini is a nice small town and I would not hesitate going back there and staying in this hotel again. One point of note, apparently Italy has two types of two pin plugs; using slightly different sized pins. I thought my world adaptor would fit, but it had the larger pins which don’t fit in the smaller sockets in the hotel. Just by luck, I had accidentally packed a USB charger which did have the smaller pins, so I could charge the phone etc.
