Monteverde Romantic Cottage

We were at Romantic for an extended stay and found our hosts to be very kind and helpful. We were happy to be able to use the laundry which is in a separate building, but close by. We see that a previous review said that the neighboring cabin had a noisy roof on windy nights. Since wind is a constant in Monteverde, we would like to say, our casita, Romantic #2, is very solidly built and we felt very cozy and safe in the wildest weather. It is small and the kitchen area is definitely not a two cook situation. However, for a short stay it is very adequate. BTW the very nearby Fonda Vela hotel restaurant is excellent and moderately priced. The bedroom is small and doesn't allow for being able to get out on both sides of the bed. We found it workable but inconvenient The web site can be confusing because the different little cabins aren't identified, be sure to ask questions so there are no surprises. To comment on the "uninhabitable" review. These two cabins are NOT isolated. They are a few feet from a road, but are nicely tucked in surrounded by trees which, to my mind is a pretty much perfect situation. So, the setting is lovely. The hosts couldn't be nicer and the cabin is cozy.
