The hotel was easy to find and in a nice location and has lots of parking at the rear of the hotel with a couple of spaces at the front. When I arrived the check in was quick and the girl behind the bar took me to the room. The room itself was fine although in my view needed a little updating but it wasn’t too bad. The bathroom is on the smaller side and I did find the shower was a little too small when trying to wash but I managed. You have to remember it’s a 3 star not 5 star so I would say in light of everything a good 3 star. The only comment I would make is that I found the room cold, possibly around 15C. Maybe it was just the time of year and it was a colder day and the heating wasn’t quite caught up yet. I had a look for a radiator or something to heat it up but couldn’t see anything. I prefer sleeping in a cool room around 18-19C but it was cooler than I would normally have. Once in bed I soon warmed up and the bed was comfortable which meant a good nights sleep. I arrived later in the evening and about an hour before the food stopped so headed down to eat. The food was incredibly good and home cooked and plentiful and is definitely good value. The breakfast next day was also really good and sets you up for the day. It’s worth coming just for the food. I only seen 2 staff members for the short time I was there but the young girl in the evening was extremely pleasant and very helpful as was the lady at breakfast. I would definitely return.

Went here for food and a drink while staying in St Cyrus. On this particular visit they ga Ember 80 Shilling on the bar. A good old fashioned beer that was very welcome and reasonably priced too. A good selection of lagers and the usual Scottish favourites too. So to the food, what a great choice there was, a real variety made us spoilt for choice. I had soup to start and my partner had the duck spring rolls. The soup was excellent Chicken and chilli, just the right amount of spice and a refreshing change from the norm. For mains I had the steak and black pudding pie and my partner opted for Beef Bourginoin. It was lovely and the bladed beef in the Bourginoin was melt in your mouth. Everything was reasonably priced too. I would definitely eat and drink here again. So why only 4 stars you ask? Well with any village pub you always need your locals. Unfortunately locals also forget that people don't really want to here them effing this and effing that while you sat having a meal. It just spoils it. 😌. The lad behind the bar was a star, polite, helpful and courteous. I would definitely go back again regardless of the locals 😃

Went for lunch today with my mum and dad. Food was superb. The great Scott pie is a proper pie with pastry all round and not just on top. Delicious. Fish pie stuffed full of prawns and seafood and sweet and sour chicken very authentic. Nothing too much trouble and in really nice surroundings with the comfiest chairs I have sat in for a restaurant. All in all 5 star. Will defo be back 👍

We dropped in for a much needed pub lunch after a family trip to the beautiful beach at St cyrus. We were not disappointed. Staff were welcoming and friendly. The menu catered to all budgets and generations!! Food was fantastic. All 3 generations agreed!!

Wow such a great dinner we had here lovely little pub in the middle of the village a very helpful lady served us we were also impressed with the gluten free options. Food was lovely fish and chips gluten free very tasty club sandwich very filling fish pie packed with fish it goes on and on. Great value for money we all left very full and satisfied Keep up the good work guy The best meal of our holiday 🙏🙏🙏

This hotel is a wee bit dated and the bedding and towels for the bedrooms need replaced. The food was absolutely fabulous breakfast/packed lunch very good. We stayed 3 nights and the bed was really comfortable. Would stay there again if in the area. I know it is difficult for small hotels these days .. but a wee bit of TLC in rooom 1 would make it even better.

Great Hotel serving wonderful food.would be so nice if there was a nice area to sit out the back as there seems to be enough room. The hotel is situated near a beautiful nature reserve with stunning beach reached by a well maintained wooden bridge called Bridge over the river Why as it was built years ago by the ghourka soldiers.

I had a great time at the St Cyrus village hotel yesterday. I was showed around all 4 rooms in the building and the outdoor beer garden and it is a nice and cosy place. Best of all the black pudding and steak pie with peppercorn sauce was absolutely amazing - I will be returning in the summer to use the beer garden no doubt!

Food was great but only 2 staff on on hogmanay? Was very busy...and service was slow .menu is good but more vegetarian dishes would be good..and a daialy special perhaps??everyone's meal was great including starters and sweets ..........
