Redwings Lodge Rutland

The bed was creaking well. It sounded like the wood was snapping. The bathroom was unclean and the shower wouldn't work very well. The extra bed hadn't been made up on arrive although we ordered a twin room. The small breakfast corner isn't ideal for such a big hotel or only 3 tables for all guests. Staff don't monitor the breakfast you have to keep asking them to top up. Very limited breakfast and most of their equipment don't work. Parking isn't very good, only a few places and reception don't seem care if you can park or not. And worst of all no double glazing so you could hear the traffic of the busy main road outside. Sorry. Won't be going back again.

Value for money. Bathroom dated and showing signs of age but clean and equipped as described. Staff happily accommodated ( and they suggested) a change of room to ground floor to avoid my elderly mother having to go upstairs ( there is no lift).

Bed comfortable and good nights sleep Breakfast was very filling Bedroom carpet and chair in need of a clean Bathroom what a disgrace in need of urgent upgrade, Rust round the bath taps mildew on ceiling floor was so dirty laid spare towels on the floor thank goodness I took my slippers

If you've looking for a cheap option in driving distance to the World Bird Fair, then this is your best bet. The shower pressure was good but the tub slippery, the mattress needed updating, but at least we could grab coffee, albeit instant, toast, cereal, fruit and yogurt for a quick breakfast but there weren't enough tables inside and the benches outside weren't wiped down. On the plus side the desk staff were friendly and helpful, the garage next door has a Costa machine and the Indian Restaurant was convenient and accommodating so we could watch Euro Cup Finals after dinner. With a little updating this place could be a gem. The main things we look for is clean, comfortable, convenient and good service. Brewed coffee would have been a bonus. Still, you get what you pay for.

We needed accommodation late on a Friday evening due to a booking mixup somewhere else. The receptionists were helpful and welcoming. Room was clean and comfortable and good value. The breakfast was varied and was good especially for the price.

Pleasantly surprised. Booked this on recommendation by my parents that live in Rutland. The staff at check in were friendly and the room met expectations. We weren’t expecting basic breakfast in the morning so that was a welcomed addition. I’ve passed this place on the motorway a few times and would go back. The Indian restaurant seemed busy and Rutland Point had a lovely backdrop for breakfast. Will stay again.

Everything at the hotel was very good. The girl that booked us in was pleasant and helpful. The room was quite large bit dated but clean. Continental breakfast as advertised was not! but was adequate for what we needed. Was the whole experience good value for what we paid...Nah Not really, We would though definitely stay here again in the future if we needed to be in the area.

Ok so it's a motel so not the Dorchester but priced accordingly. Staff are outstanding in attitude and very family friendly. They quickly deleted the Karen in the next room who was verbally abusing my family whenever I would leave the room. Rooms and beds warm and clean. Breakfast included is basic. Would have been nice to have access to a fridge. The staff are what made this a 5 star stay.

The Redwings Lodge in Rutland is a good value for money motel, situated on the A47. It used to be a Travelodge, until it changed hands. Pros: Great value for money if you expect to use the motel as a base for a night or two. Breakfast typically included, even if it is just toast, cereal, and drinks. The bed was very comfy, and the room was very clean. The shower was warm, and the bathroom was in good condition. The ooms come with fans, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The motel has free parking too. Cons: Breakfast is served in the reception area of the motel, so I'm not sure how the place would cope if every room was occupied and every family wanted breakfast at the same time. The parking is free, but there's an ongoing dispute with the restaurant next door at the time of writing meaning they don't share between them. This really needs to be resolved and they should work together. Finally, it could do with a bit of a refresh across the reception area and rooms, but nothing is a deterrent. These cons aren't enough to lose a star, just recommendations.
