Anchor Inn

We stayed at the Anchor for 4 nights as we got married nearby. Darren kindly agreed to facilitate our wedding meal, which was fantastic. The attentive service from Darren, Stef, Georgie and the team throughout our stay was outstanding. The quality of food that the chef put out was also excellent.The room was decorated well and felt really intimate on the day. I would highly recommend the Anchor and we will definitely be going back.

I have no idea what any of the negative reviews are on about. The setting is superb, the accommodation is great and the food is lovely. The staff are also very nice and friendly. Enjoyed a summers afternoon by the river in a delightful garden by the river followed by nice food and and a comfy en-suite room with a great view. What more could you want?

FLY Gravy with Insult and lies….. Came here with Friends, Not born local but we all live locally and wanted to give this place a try. Ordered starters, just ok. Main dish, pork was served with gravy. Gravy had a “DEAD FLY” In it. Brought it to the attention of the waiter who took it back to the kitchen. 30 seconds later it came back with the same plate we’re you could clearly see they just wiped the fly off. Then the waiter proceeded to lie stating they poured fresh gravy over it. (Our table was disgusted, even if that was true what would you just pour fresh gravy over it?). First you lied to me then you tried to insult my intelligence. I understand things happen to food but make it right. #BUZZKILL
