The Premier Lodge

No one in reception on our arrival or at check out. Our room smelled of sweaty socks with paint that had peeled off the wall near the kettle and off the bottom of the door. Definitely not part of the Premier Inn group… Bed and breakfast with no sign of a breakfast ( not that I’d eat it in that place!) . Cheap and nasty, don’t go there.

Real budget hotel but the room was clean and tidy.The electric shower took some setting to avoid being scalded or frozen to death! Very good position for restaurants with choice of Turkish,Indian,French and pub close by within 5 minute walk. On site parking good. No evidence of breakfast service reception unmanned Morrisons supermarket a stones throw away where a good breakfast with coffee costs £ 9

2nd stay at the lodge… It’s clean, VERY central, has parking, nice owners… The price is budget but well worth it! No breakfast is available but a great quirky motorcycle shop/cafe 1 minute walk 👍🏻 This hotel is a fantastic budget option 👌🏻 I will be back for a 3rd stay

Stayed for one night , through the night there was a great smell of sewerage, there was no hand soap in the room, a dirty towel was left there

Unfortunately receptionist wasn't available to check in for at least 15 minutes. The room smelt of cigarettes, wasn't clean and I've woken up with bite's on my body 😕 ? Bed bugs. No breakfast facilities onsite. The rooms are not sound proof so unfortunately you can here everybody's discussion in the next rooms. For the money it wasn't cost effective. The whole room needs an upgrade, mattresses, decor, bathroom and most definitely a cleaner. Location is good though,

Really not great from the moment we got there. Receptionist asked us what room we were staying in...not sure how she expected us to know the answer to that question. She then phoned someone and proceeded to talk to them for details (not us) and ushered us to our room without waiting or explaining. She did not really speak to us again so offered no further information and then gave us our key. It would have been helpful if she had mentioned the fact that the key has a fob on it to allow you to get back into the building late at night! We didn't find this out until we were locked out the following evening and had to press buttons randomly until someone appeared to let us in five minutes later. The room we stayed in (No 15) was extremely below par for the £60 per night charge that was levied. We had used a voucher to help pay for the room but all the same - very poor. Small room with bed pushed against side wall, mirror not attached properly to wall, glass shelf rusty and at a jaunty angle and poor, very small, shower. The lady that was cleaning the other rooms was very helpful and extremely pleasant, but we will not stay in this hotel again. Very disappointing considering it was a first trip to Morpeth (which is lovely) but an extremely poor choice of hotel.

Had an amazing stay, I stayed for 9 nights, I used this for a base whilst visiting family in Northumberland, check in was quick and good, I contacted the reception before arriving to ask if I could have an earlier check-in due to travelling from Orkney and it wasn't a problem, It is a basic but very good place to stay. I didn't require daily room service but was done on request, nothing seemed a problem for any of the staff and we're all very polite,the room was fantastic, only thing I would say is a bigger tv in the room, The bed was amazing, I have already rebooked for my next trip in November 2024.

I've stayed here before and I would do so again. Decent hotel with a comfortable bed and nice room. I don't think they do breakfast any longer, but I could be wrong. The only thing that annoyed me was that someone, somewhere near my room was smoking and the smell was venting up into my en-suite bathroom and as an ex-smoker you get really sanctimonious about that sort of thing, because it was horrid

It is very basic accommodation and the public remind you of a very old B and B, the bedroom and bathroom were very cleaned and look to be newly refurbished. The man on reception was pleasant and took us to our room. It served our purpose for one night.
