This hotel is absolutely fabulous walked in to find dodgem car tables and bar stools with bicycle cranks and pedals for your feet the barstaff are tremendous and the Guinness is superb we sat in the big seats in the front window people watching then a few drinks later checked in the room was amazing four poster bed ,stand alone bath and a huge fairground wooden horse the room was immaculately clean big shout to the girl cleaning the rooms and the girls on the bar and the kitchen staff and chef (breakfast to die for) the auction house needs you all thanks can’t wait to return

Loaded fries, GLUTEN FREE, big portion, great on cc knowledge, chef came out to chat with me, definitely go back, was struggle to finish 😆 but did, be rude to leave it, went on a Friday for lunch which was quiet but lovely pub and staff really helpful, slightest cc makes me ill, had no bad reactions 😊

Myself and a friend attended the venue in April 2024 and were greeted by the Bar Manager Caitlin. Living the local area the need to stay the evening is very low, however speaking with the manager we decided to book the venue for an evening later in the month. Caitlin was very attentive, friendly and made the time spend in the bar extremely easy. She made us feel very welcome on a Tuesday afternoon and explained although there was no food available it would be Thursday to Sunday, she talked myself and friend though the menu and said the ‘Don’t Stop Me Bao’ is her recommendation. When in the local area I would 100% attended again because of the work Caitlin has done. Hands down the best bar manager I have came across in the longest time!

Very Disappointed in our stay. Paid for the upgraded room with bath and was definitely not worth all the money. Toilet seat was loose, blind was broken, shower was cold in the morning, only 2 options available on the breakfast menu. Raised points when checking out with staff member and contacted via email, have yet to receive any response from property. Would not recommend.

Lovely and friendly and quick check in. Room modern decor but really cold and dusty. Nothing appears to be moved and dusted behind. Nice smellies in room on arrival. The windows are only single glazed hence the cold and at the front you can really hear the traffic from outside and the rattling grate people have mentioned in other reviews when cars drive over it - it’s no exaggeration! We ate there and had some drinks which were all really nice! I’d stay again overall.

Upon first impressions the room was of lovely decor, clean and albeit a lot smaller than the impression the photos give a decent enough room. However upon closer inspection we were left extremely disappointed by the standard. We booked this hotel wanting a luxury stay and it was far from this. We stayed in room 12, double room with a corner bath. A TINY corner bath, surrounded by damp and peeling wallpaper giving off a foisty smell you just can't avoid. The taps were giving both hot and cold water and wernt convenient at all. There was a lot of dust in the room. Lampshades, behind tables, plug sockets all covered. Towels were provided and ample amount of toiletries. The bed was clean and comfortable but to be perfectly honest this is where the good things stay. The toilet was cold, in the sink we found hair and tissue paper. The cups provided for teas and coffees had tea stains and lipstick still left on them, needless to say these were not used. The WiFi and TV had good reception. The hotel van be accessed by a bar downstairs until 11 at night at weekends, however after this the night entrance is a hazard waiting to happen. you have to walk along a main road, via a housing are and acces the hotel via very steep, metal stairs and enter with a key code. This isn't practical at all, the weather was very heavy rain and the steps were very slippy. To say we won't be returning here is fair and we have had better, more comfortable stays in a premier inn. Very disappointing!!! Not worth the money at all!!!

Really enjoyed our break away here lovely room clean and nicely decorated with very friendly staff. Only fault there was a noisy manhole on the road outside which rattled most of the night. Breakfast was one of best i have had. Would definitely will be going back

It’s a gorgeous place there’s no doubt but for an overnight stay it’s hugely impractical. Nowhere to put anything, The sunken small corner bath in the room looks lovely but without a shower in the bathroom it doesn’t really benefit, the room was really small and the bathroom walls made of paper. At breakfast there were no eggs so the menu choice was limited. Location is fantastic and I would have rated this much higher if I’d payed a lot less money but overall definitely not worth £140 for a very last minute room.

Stopped in for a New Year’s Eve lunch, attracted in by the quirky and amusing decor. The food was amazing, freshly prepared with great flavours and beautifully presented. Vegetarians and vegans are well catered for, with some unusual variations on ‘the classics’ and a good range for everyone else too. We had attentive, but not intrusive, service. All in all a great experience! Highly recommended!
