My stay at Hotell Riviera was unfortunately overshadowed by disappointing experiences related to communication and service, which significantly impacted the overall impression. It is disheartening to see a hotel with such potential fail to address basic issues that could be resolved through proper training and staffing. A recurring issue was the lack of effective communication. Reviews on TripAdvisor confirm this as a common problem, and my experience was no different. Calls often went unanswered, and emails or chat messages were left unaddressed for extended periods. The front desk appeared severely understaffed, leaving the staff stressed and seemingly overwhelmed. One particular incident highlighted this issue clearly: during a previous stay, an email I had sent had been sitting in the chat system for some time, unnoticed. When I pointed this out, the staff member actually laughed and mentioned that there was also an unanswered message from another customer. Such incidents reflect a lack of professionalism and systematic follow-up. Another challenge was the attitude of some staff members. Many phone conversations carried an undertone of irritation, with superficial professionalism that came across as sarcastic. While I did encounter one exceptionally friendly and helpful staff member, even this individual forgot to forward important information, creating further issues for me. On a positive note, there were a few staff members who stood out for their excellent service. The English-speaking servers and a female maître d’ during the New Year’s Eve celebration were outstanding and deserve praise for their effort and dedication. Additionally, the room itself was comfortable, with a great bed and a stunning view. However, it is clear that the hotel faces significant challenges that require urgent attention. The lack of adequate staffing and training to manage communication effectively- both internally and externally - is critical. I sincerely hope the management considers hiring a qualified professional to oversee and elevate the standards of communication and customer service. This hotel has the potential to be fantastic, but until such fundamental issues are addressed, guest experiences will continue to suffer. Rating: 2/5 The bed and a few exceptional staff members were highlights, but poor communication and service severely detract from the overall experience. There is no phone available in the room. Very beautiful hotel, with nice decoration. But unfortunately quite bad service. The pool was cold, and bearly an apology from the staff. Me and my friend was really looking forwards to spend time at the spa and enjoy our stay. Unfortunately I will not recommend this hotel to friends and family. Really hope they increase their service, the beautiful hotell deserves top noch service

Had the nicest of visits to Hotel Riviera in Moss. Work related, so got to try out the nice conference fasilities. The nicest I’ve ever been to I gather. Had a very good meal in the restaurant in the evening, fabulous food and really good service. The room was very well equipped, with a huge and comfortably bed and everything was spotlessly clean and crisp. But the cherry on top was a visit the rooftop spa after two long days in the conference hall. To see the sun set and enjoying a glass wine in the warm outdoor pool was absolutely fabulous!

We stayed in the Ocean Front Suite. In the description of the room it says that one can get breakfast in the room and that the room is freshed up before the night. I assume they are referring to turndown service, but there isn't any. We were also informed that we could not get breakfast served in the room even its stated on the room description. The room was beautiful and clean except for the terrasse that hadn't been cleaned properly. Also, the joints in the corner of the railing was slipping apart. Some will love the beds, some will not. For me they were too soft but that is a personal opinion and not something I will use in the rating. The service is below average. They do answer most questions but not everyone seems focused and they do not provide all services they promise. The Spa is quite small, but views are great. Everything works nicely. The service was better here than in the rest of the hotell.

I was there for the restuarant. I had to ask several times for the drinks. And when it fianally came it had no fuzz left in it. And most of the ice had melted. There was no staff that asked if it was ok or any way of getting in touch with the staff. The fish of the day meal was cold and deffinitly frosen fish that was chewy and dry. Again no one to talk to abut it. As I was a guest I did not want to make a fuss but when I tried to talk to the staff I was not recognised. A very bad experience. I will not eat here again.

What a mess this place is. Ive stayed here a couple times now on business and choose not to write a review even though it was a real mess from the booking to the dinner and even breakfast. I choose now to write because you get zero help when booking, or with questions you have relating to the stay. I had high hopes for this place, and it is actually very nice with a good vibe. Such a shame the management is such a mess and cant even help with the simplest of tasks: booking confirmations dont arrive, then bookings cant be found. i used so much time trying to get help that i am left feeling annoyed and frustrated with there entire system that i feel i have to now say something and warn other customers.

Spectacular views from this gorgeous luxury hotel. Very affordable if visiting from the UK and a great alternative to staying in Oslo as its only 40 mins by train. Lovely food and friendly staff. Fabulous rooftop oool and spa. Already planning my return trip.

Perfect out of the city gateaway. Took my husband for a hr drive from Oslo staycation. It was amazing! The food was great and the staff was incredibly nice. The spa on the 14th floor gives is a must visit. The pool may be a little crowded when the spa is full but we were lucky is was few people enjoying the spa that day. Restaurant is a must TRY!!!! The ceasar salad they have was to die for 🥰❤️ I would love to go back again. Such a romantic place for couples and cozy place to hang out with friends. 😁
