We really weren’t sure what to expect having never done a safari previously. All I can say is wow. A truly life changing experience where you will see nature at its most raw. Our arrival and check in was seamless. Simply signed in, we’re given drinks and then ushered to the restaurant prior to a late afternoon safari. Meanwhile bags were moved to our lodge/hut. The accommodation was superb, clean and spacious with panoramic views where we could see a lake and wildlife visitors. WiFi excellent throughout The safari tours themselves were safe, comfortable and with a guide who was so knowledgeable he put David Attenborough to shame . We saw lions, cheetah, giraffe, umpteen types of deer, zebra etc etc. And witnessed a lion hunt. Food was 10/10. Only issue was that the portions were massive and we simply couldn’t clear plates. Staff couldn’t have been friendlier. I’m actually typing this as we await our transport to leave. We really don’t want to. BRILLIANT isn’t a word I bandy around for holidays. This is the exception. Thank you.

We have been with the family in the Gondwana game reserve and had our accommodation in the Ulubisi house. The whole experience was simply fantastic. The location, the service as well as the food and drinks were perfect. Sitting in the pool in the evening with a wine and watching the zebras was just one of the many highlights for us. We had a total of 4 safaris with Stan, the best ranger you can imagine. At this point we would like to once again personally thank Stan for the effort and the unforgettable safaris. If you want an unforgettable experience, we can only warmly recommend a stay in Gondwana

Spending 2 nights with 4 Game drives here was to be the icing on the cake of our SA holiday. Cool man, our safari driver was amazing. Very knowledgeable, found all the animals that were on our list. The room was nice, a very comfortable bed, beautiful linen with outside seating to sit and enjoy the views and animals visiting the water hole. The biggest disappointment and it was a big disappointment, was the restaurant. Under staffed. Long waits for meals to be served and not always of the highest quality. I ordered lamb chops on 2 nights, 1st night was good , 2nd dreadful as was my neighbours. We both mentioned it to the waiter but no one approached us about our complaints.Plus, why are they served with just chips? Have you heard of vegetables? It’s a good place for a game drive in a relaxing atmosphere but the quality of the food and waiting staff needs to be improved.

I don't understand that people can be negative about this accommodation. In my opinion, that says more about the people themselves than about the accommodation. From start to finish everything was perfectly arranged, we had a beautiful villa with everything! Transport to and from the reception was well organized, one phone call and in no time we were brought and picked up. Our ranger Therien was a topper, who showed us a lot, and really told us everything about the wildlife, this lady knows her job very well, it doesn't get any better in our opinion! In short, a world experience that we will recommend to everyone who visits South Africa!!
