The Poplars Hotel

Just perfect, great to support a local business, so much character unlike the sterile big chains. Plenty of parking, lovely village to walk around. Lovely room, ( 11) nice and dark, no street lights, and quite✔️ Nice comfy bed. Good selection at breakfast. Fresh coffee ☕☕✔️

Very welcoming. and friendly staff Helped us with location when lost in busy one way system of Moulton on Friday late afternoon. Susan directing us over the telephone and waiting outside to welcome us. Breakfast - very well cooked and presented with plenty of Choice Helpful in providing directions to other village.

Excellent one night stay, en route between visits to friends. Warm welcome with helpful advise about finding somewhere for an evening meal. Delicious breakfast with many choices. The room had everything you could need and there was also a guest lounge. Lovely old building.

Booked multiple rooms for my sons Wedding and paid for them all in advance, on checkin family were advised rooms were not paid for and were asked to pay again. I provided proof of payment to the guy checking us in and he advised Susan would look into it. Next morning Susan was on reception and again stated I had not paid. Luckily I have online banking on my phone and could provide proof of payment. No apologies were forthcoming only excuses that she had a bad back at the time I paid and she was taking pain killers. I explained that it was unacceptable and embarrassing for both me and the guests - still no apology. The cold tap in the room was not cold - boiling hot water scalded my hands and the rooms had a musty smell and had not been aired . On the plus side breakfast was great and although close to the road there was no road noise. I did originally leave this review direct with The Poplars but got no response and it had not been uploaded on their website- it seems they only use positive reviews for this which does not give an accurate view of the hotel !!!

A great personal service with comfort and cleanliness at the top great breakfast and help with any information you need a truly wonderful place to stay which we will use again and again no doubt.......Ideally situated in the lovely village of Moulton with lots of pubs and restaurants close to Northampton

Stayed here for my partners birthday as a base before travelling to Silverstone. Stayed for 2 nights and we can honestly say this was the best hotel we’ve stayed in as a couple. Beautiful location right in the heart of Moulton village, away from noise and business of cities. Susan, our host was so warm and welcoming and a fountain of knowledge for things to do. If you’re looking for a cosy homey feel, stay here! The breakfast was also amazing, and lots of lovely areas to visit nearby (just ask Susan!)

Lovely old building, good car parking, great breakfast and lovely staff! That sums it up! Great old building feels like a part of history, but rooms were really good for us as we were staying at for a festival. More car parking than you might think. Easy to walk around the village.

Nice quiet hotel convenient for our visit en route to Silverstone circuit. Needed 2 single rooms for self and son which were clean and comfortable. Friendly welcome on arrival and lovely breakfast which we were able to pre-order for early departure.

Very friendly, spotlessly clean, great breakfast. Would have no hesitation in using The Poplars again and recommending. Located in a lovely village, with a variety of places to eat, so no problem with the restaurant being closed at the moment.
