Golden Mare - All Inclusive

We have jusy returned from a 7 night stay at this hotel, 5 ladies celebrating a special birthday. The hotel in general is good, rooms are clean and well equipped. We had an issue one day with no cleaner however this was addressed quickly by reception. Food was average, not a massive choice and sometimes not very warm either. All inclusive drinks were shocking, the mixers and cocktails were very poor. We bought our mixers from the shop, however the beer and wine were drinkable. Pool area again was ok, could have done with mopping regularly as the floor got wet through and never saw anyone cleaning it. The pool however was cleaned every day as were the sunbeds. The roof terrace bar is fabulous, yes you have to pay for the drinks but they are great and the views are out-standing. The hotel could be amazing with little effort, just needs some simple adjustments to make this a truly fabulous 5 star hotel. Barbati is a lovely little resort, some great bars and restaurants and stunning scenery

I would rate my stay at the Golden Mare Hotel as generally positive. The biggest highlight was definitely the beautiful views — both from the rooms and around the hotel grounds. Cleanliness throughout the property was at a high level, and the staff at the reception were very polite and helpful. However, there are a few areas that could use improvement. The food at the hotel restaurant left something to be desired. Breakfast and lunch were still okay, but dinner unfortunately did not meet expectations — the selection was quite limited, especially when it came to vegetables and fruits, which were really lacking. Another downside was the bar. Although the hotel offers an all-inclusive option, there was really just one bar available, and the drinks served there were rather low quality. When it comes to the spa, I didn’t really use it, as the number of available services was quite limited and didn’t seem very appealing. Overall, the hotel has the potential to be a truly luxurious place, but it definitely needs to improve the food and drinks, diversify the spa offer, and perhaps it would also be worth considering making it an adults-only hotel.

We are extremely grateful for the wonderful vacation at this hotel. I have yet to encounter such a dedicated and accommodating staff, who take care of guests with such kindness and a genuinely pleasant attitude – this is undoubtedly what makes this hotel exceptional. The view of the mountains from the pool? Or the view of the sea from the Sky Bar, where you’ll meet an absolutely delightful bartender? The food here is excellent, offering a wide selection every time, with plenty of vegetables and meat – and the desserts are truly exceptional. The beach in front of the hotel is also fantastic, very calm and peaceful. The beds are comfortable, and the shower experience was great as well. We have never experienced such breathtaking views from a hotel before – the entire property is truly beautiful. Every evening, there was live music by the pool, and we will undoubtedly be delighted to return!
