Golden Mare - All Inclusive

Great hotel with amazing and lovely staff, always smiling and ready to help! Delicious food, with some traditional Greek dishes - a little monotonous, but still excellent! Rooms are clean and comfortable - big bed, excellent working air conditioning allows feel like in your own home!

Doesn’t look exactly like the pictures but still very pretty. The views were very picturesque too. Wifi doesn’t work in the room and we were only given 4 hangers for clothes. When we asked for more we never received them. Air con in the room was fantastic and the pressure of the shower was good. Beds are so comfortable too. Maids were very good and helpful. I found the women at reception quite rude if I’m honest just didn’t seem interested in helping with much. Pool didn’t open till 10 which I thought was quite late as it was already really hot however the pool was cleaned every morning. Was pretty easy getting a bed by the pool however there was a rule you wasn’t allowed to reserve beds but we did anyway. Food was hit and miss some nights we liked it and others we ended up just having pasta salad, wasn’t a lot of Greek food served which surprised me. The drinking water was awful it had a salty taste and whatever the glasses were washed in left a taste on them too. Couldn’t really eat outside as there were a lot of wasps. The free cocktails offered were limited and not overly nice however the rooftop bar had a lovely selection and the view was gorgeous. You did have to pay extra for the rooftop bar. We both got massages while at the resort and it was phenomenal. The pricing was really good and they had different offers everyday. On arrival we were given a complimentary 30 mins with a paid treatment which I thought was so good. I got an anti stress massage and facial and it was gorgeous. I fell asleep at some points. If I was so say anything bad I’d just say I kept hearing a toilet flush every so often and the music playlist wasn’t consistent but the women as a masseur was excellent. Small beach very close less then 5 mins away but very steep stairs going to it but it was a goregous intimate beach, 20 euros for two beds with a brolly. If you want a bed get there early Also lovely restaurant called the view and cocktail bar call skala afew mins walk away too. The hotel is on a slight steep hill just to warn you too.

I had a great stay at the Golden Mare Hotel in Corfu. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were super friendly and helpful, the view from the hotel was amazing. The food was tasty and there was a good choice every day. The pool area was nice and the beach was not far. The only downside was that the rooms were up a steep hill, but the beautiful views made it all worth it. I would happily stay here again.

Excellent food, very nice and friendly staff, always willing to help. The way to the beach (and especially from the beach) is a bit tiring, but the sea is clean and there are always sunbeds available, so it's worth it.

We REGRET booking this hotel! The only positives are the view and the pool, however: 1) Cleanliness: our room was only cleaned ONCE (we booked it for 4 nights / 5 days). It was just utterly disappointing for the price that we paid. 2) Bathroom: hot water was almost Non-existent! We had hot water only one day out of the 5 days that we stayed there... Oh, and do not expect to have water all the time either... water pressure comes and goes, once my girlfriend had to finish her shower with mineral water.. 3) Accommodation: we booked the more expensive Double Standard Double Sea View, yes there is a great view, up a hill that you climb every single day. 4) Food & Drinks: since the tap water in the hotel tasted a bit salty, I am pretty sure that the coffee machine in the restaurant uses salty water .. my girlfriend was quite disappointed as she enjoys a cup of coffee every morning (as do I). Also, we sometimes skipped meals due to the food's poor quality and instead went to the nearby restaurant (not something you should be doing when staying at a 4-star all inclusive hotel to be honest). 5) Other: expect occasional power cuts (we experienced 3 of those during our stay).

This holiday is for my fiancé birthday here in Corfu. Delays at Gatwick didn't hinder our mood and arrived at golden mare around 2am and greeted warmly with quick efficient reception desk clerk. We didn't receive room booked and with equal efficiency it was corrected and upgraded with warmest management code of conduct I could possibly need.. Manager went above and beyond to remedy the situation which left me overwhelmed and very grateful and assured my stay here was going to be amazing and yes it has been just that. Highly recommend the GOLDEN MARE RESORT BARBATI CORFU 100 PERCENT.
