Purity at Lake Vembanad

We had a wonderful stay - absolute tranquility in the beautiful hotel with its gorgeous garden, with opportunities to take day trips for sightseeing. The courtyard is a lovely, shaded place to enjoy the fantastic food (we had a great tasting menu from chef Sahar on our last night). The pool has a wonderful view over the lake and the Ayurvedic massages are amazing. Thank you Mary, Arya and Suresh for looking after us so well. This was a truly memorable trip.

The hotel and the location are very nice. Service at restaurant is quick and organized and the staff is friendly and attentive. However the whole experience has been totally ruined due to having been double charged for the stay. I paid by bank transfer in February, sent respective confirmation and even the location code. Until my departure they were unable to locate the transfer and made me pay again by credit card, assuring they would return the money as soon as they locate the transfer. Both payments have already been debited in my account and no refund made. My bank assures me that the money has reached the recipient bank and I already asked and paid for the return of the initial payment, even though I am aware that Malabar Escapes has to authorize it. Now since my departure (end of March) the hotel stopped answering my e-mails. I cannot help wondering if the staff from reservation (Adithya) and finance departaments are incompetent or if there is a scam behind. I hope that senior management investigates this matter and returns the money urgently. Future travellers be aware

First class hotel. The staff were great, especially receptionist Mary and the lady in charge of the restaurant. We did not only get an upgrade to a sea-view suite but could also leave all our belongings in the room while we went on our backwater house boat trip for 24 hours. The cooking was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

This is one of the most amazing and beautiful places we have stayed in our travels. The layout of the place is spectacular - artwork, courtyards, pool overlooking lake and the most amazing food from the chef and kitchen that you can imagine! Fabulous Indian food prepared to perfection. The staff is amazing and the canoe ride with local fisherman a must. So calm, peaceful and restful. A true gem in India.

Purity resort is magnificent as are all the staff. The lake location and amenities are to die for! Highly recommended for any trip to the Kerala backwaters. The restaurant courtyard is cool and welcoming. The grounds, pools and Yoja class are so relaxing and enjoyable.

A fabulous location and a wonderful team of people make this a perfect hideaway. The early evening canoe ride was a delight, taking you closer to the heart of the local experience. We even got to look at the Chinese fishing nets close up. Wholly recommend a stay here.
