Beautiful, unique property. The staff was outstanding and very accomidating. The food in the on property resturand was very good. The room was large and comfortable, and clean. The lodge itself it is a desitnation all its own. Take the guided hike! It's a tough hike, but beautiful. The road to the hotel is challenging and requires and experience driver and a vehicle with clearance. For me, it added to the charm of the place, but may not for everyone.

The service is top notch, the hotel is unique and beautiful and the surroundings are breath taking. Absolutely recommend this hotel! And the food is delicious! We want on an hour and half walk and enjoyed the views, the staff was super friendly and the place was also kid friendly.

Absolutely amazing stay. Unlike any hotel I have visited before, with a fascinating back story. We loved wandering the grounds and exploring the hotel. The staff are so welcoming and accommodating, and they offered many activities. We did the cave tour (a must!), the beer and chocolate tasting, the long trail walk, a horseback ride, and a night hike. The food was phenomenal, and they catered to our vegetarian diet. The hot tub was the perfect temperature. More people need to be visiting this gem.

What an amazing place! We walked up a magical tree-lined lane with an amazing view all around to find horses standing in a field. So peaceful! so beautiful! The room was unique, the food was fantastic. We played ping pong and pool to enjoy the day before returning to the airport for our flight. Great spot for a couple looking for a romantic getaway or for a family looking for a cool place to hang out. (Do let them pick you up though - the road to the hotel is not easy!!)

One of a kind experience. Unique place, cozy, full of meaning. Rooms super comfortable. Beer/chocolate pairing and wine/cheese pairing explained by a knowledgeable and attentive host. Nice horse ride, amazing waterfalls trails. But the best was the staff: everyone extremely helpful and genuinely caring.

Everything about this location was amazing. It has a great history, offers great comfort, delicious food, and with excellent staff running the operation. The room was perfect with all the necessities, it was very clean, and had an excellent hot shower. The grounds offer many places to walk, meditate or just chill. We selected and paid extra for the beer and Chocolate pairing which was hosted by Chef Manuel Aguirre, who is very knowledgeable, very pleasant, and based on the meals which he prepared for us, an excellent chef. We paid for the optional dual waterfall tour with Rodrigo on check out morning, which was very interesting and which made for excellent photos. Overall, from check-in to check-out, this was an amazing experience.

We were looking for a rural place close to Quito for a couple of nights to recover from our long flight from Europe and thought this place looked good. It was. An easy pick up at the arrivals with a pre-booked transfer and we were at the Hacienda in less than 30 minutes. The Approach road is a little bumpy for the last couple of kms but not a problem. Reception was warm and friendly and we were quickly shown to our room #3 which was raised above the spacious grounds with good views. It locks up and there is a wall safe. The main living area comprises a lounge corner and a huge double bed which was excellent and very comfortable. We are at about 8,000 amsl so it was good to have warm blankets even on the Equator. The Hacienda is designed to look like a set of cave dwellings or cloisters and it works well. Restaurant is warm and large with a nice log fire for those chilly evening. There did not appear to be a menu but we were offered several choices in both European and Ecuadorian cooking. Wine is excellent and reasonably priced. We had poached Salmon one evening and Marinated Belly Pork another. There are several activities daily including riding and walks both guided or unguided. Or just sit out on the balcony and spot the birds. All told this was a nice find and we would visit again.

We enjoyed every part of our stay at this unique place. The property was beautiful. We had some difficulty getting up the road after some rain but the staff was available to help and it was well worth it. We attended a beer and chocolate tasting and a wine and cheese tasting and both were very informative. The room was comfortable and the views were amazing.

This place is UNBELIEVABLE. We were blown away - with the beauty of the location, the craftsmanship of the rooms and other facilities, and the service of the staff - and the 5-star gourmet food served in their restaurant. The drive up and down the hills and valley’s to get to this completely private hillside resort takes you completely off the beaten path, but once you arrive you never want to leave. This hacienda is built as large caves and tunnels all connecting with each other which was so cool. Our 17 yr old daughter never wanted to leave as we enjoyed the large Jacuzzi, playing pool and ping pong, the Reading room, candle making, the home made cheese making, the pond and exploring the property. So so so very cool. If we ever travel back to Quito, we will absolutely stay here.
