Very underwhelming. Only allowed to cook meat outside on the BBQ !!! Flooring repaired with tape. All topped off with a cockroach 🪳 in one of the beds. Presumably attracted in by dirt or damp. Thank goodness we only booked in for one night. Couldn't leave soon enough.

Stayed here on our travels Old Wood cabins dark and old fashioned. Musty smell through out. Two bedrooms. Two singles and one double a little cramped. Large living area. With again old fashioned furniture. All rather dark. Friendly town and locals.

Nice accomodation, easy access, parking and check in. Clean confortable room with all is needed, cooking facility available outside. The garden is pretty and is pleasant to sit outside. Easy walk to the river, the town has historical sites and building worth to look at. We thought it was an excellent stop for 1 night.

Great place to stay, we've been there twice!The cabins are well set up and comfortable, and there is also an outside bbq area to use. Aaron was very helpful and took the time to answer our questions. Even though the town is small, there are several restaurants to try, and a new grocery store is being built.

We had a lovely stay at the Tui cabin. It was wonderful and quiet there (apart from my loud children) and I loved the bird life. There is a great coffee truck just across the road as well which was a huge bonus. The hammock, tree swing and chair hanging from the tree were lovely, and the games and the trampoline kept my kids entertained. Murchison is lovely, and there is loads to do around there - definitely checkout the swing bridge and swimming hole at the river. I could probably kill half a day browsing through the General Store and talking to the lady who works there.

We booked our stay at Off the Beaten Trail as we wanted to break up a long drive from the Abel Tasman National Park back to Christchurch, and got exactly what we needed. The cabins were comfortable and had all the facilities we could have needed for the night - cooking facilities, fridge, TV, sofa, dining area, nice clean bathroom, two comfortable rooms. We were arriving late and Arran text ahead with the code to access the lock box meaning that we could check in independently when we arrived.

Very comfortable accomodation in park like surrounds. Affordable and very clean. Beds were comfortable as well. Host Aran was very accommodating of our extra people in the group. Great option to stay pre any adventure on the West Coast, Our second visit and will recommend to others

Great little cabins, clean with everything you need. The cabins are in a mini bush settings, with a shared outdoor kitchen (so cool), tree swing and trampoline. Our cabin (Tūī), had a few games was warm and had an outdoor brazier which we could use. We spent our night round the fire roasting marshmallows, making smores and making memories. Would defiantly stay again if passing through. 10/10.

Our key was placed in a key lock outside reception- (as manager is not there much) a code apparently went to my Australian phone number - was not able to get into our cabin. Phoned manager, left a message, did not call back. Found the back door unlocked to our cabin - so helped ourselves. No clear instructions on where the extra bedding was (never found it). There is no internet / no TV reception. Cabins are very run down. House keeping lady was so very nice the next day, that’s the only positive.
