Sand Dunes Resort & Suites

The room was a little smaller than we thought but overall nice and clean. The property offers great amenities and super skid friendly. The only thing was that the parking garage elevator did not go all the way down so we had to take stairs for our wagon or walk all the way around to an exit. The parking garage is also tight for parking trucks

Our stay was just for one night but this property met our needs. Lots of activities for younger children. They rooms are updated.

Myrtle beach review - [ ] Got “upgraded” to a room that doesn’t get regular room service on the opposite side of the resort - [ ] Have to go to the front desk to get more toilet paper or anything at all - [ ] asked for room service on Tuesday and nobody came at all (we stayed until Saturday) - [ ] Asked for towels on Tuesday morning and didn’t get them until Wednesday afternoon - [ ] TV didn’t have a remote which wasn’t ideal but we made it work - [ ] There are two holes in drywall that are covered with plastic that fell off everytime you opened the bathroom door. - [ ] No extra blankets to use in the living space - [ ] Room was dirty and not cleaned. Drain plug doesn’t work. Drain was filled with somebody else’s hair. Walking barefoot in the room, the bottoms of our feet turned black - [ ] One lamp didn’t work and the overhead lighting didn’t give off nearly enough light - [ ] Hair all over the towels - [ ] The patio door did not lock and my 2 year old can open it with ease and walk onto the patio - [ ] Beds were next to the door and there is a window where an LED light shines right in all night long - [ ] Can open the main door with ease. The lock unlocks everytime you turn the handle that my kids can open. Needs another deadbolt or something else higher up. - [ ] Main bucket that dumps water at the water park was broken - [ ] Not enough water to get down the yellow and blue slides at the waterpark. Constantly got stuck trying to go down

Close to beach! Kids had a blast at the water park and pool. Room was clean, needs updated. It’s very loud in hallways and can hear everything outside your door. We had a blast despite that. Bathroom shower is clogged and water drips from the top of vent (not sure if it’s leaking from upstairs)

More pros than cons We stayed for seven days the first week of June and we enjoyed everything about this hotel. The only downfall is the beds. Stay in a one bedroom suite and it had two queen size beds. The bad my husband took squeaked horribly. There was a pullout sofa so me, my husband, and my daughter was able to have a bed all to our own. The bed kept us up all night, long as he tossed and turned. We made the best of it. The housekeeping, staff and cleaning staff were always cleaning! Thank youfor keeping this hotel clean. They worked really hard and were always very pleasant. This staff For keeping this hotel clean. They worked really hard and we’re always very pleasant. The staff in the kitchen could use some customer service, but the breakfast buffet was great. Bar drinks were wonderful. Only other thing negative was you could smell sewer on the left side of the resort as you face the ocean on the boardwalk out to the ocean.

Do better Desk Clerk's (communication) Nice. Checked in over the phone with the desk clerk and added my daughter because she was arriving first; no problem there. When I arrived that morning they had cancel the room that I was assigned. Compensation was great to a penthouse suite. It was Mother's Day weekend and I had my 86 year old mother whose birthday was Mother's Day. The room were superb and the Manger was super understanding and knew how to fix the problem. She apologized for the mis communication amongst her staff. Excellent hotel.
