The suite rooms are wonderful experience. Yes, improvements can be done but worth a day stay, cant speak about the rest.

The hotel is a palace hotel very close to the city. Has a grand and majestic look as you enter. If you want to experience the opportunity of staying in a palace, this is it. The in house restaurant is situated in the banquet hall which gives a royal feel. The staff are very courteous, helpful and obliging. Food is tasty and the quantity is more than sufficient. The room we occupied was spacious and grand. Quite a good number of antiquities around. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

this place is a fabulous destination as well as a superb hotel. Literally a palace, smaller room doubles can be had for £30, suites for £75 and regal apartments for £200. Huge rooms, high ceilings, quirky bathrooms, antique furniture, good fridges, deep balconies most with great views surrounded by enormous gardens and a huge swimming pool. There are pool changing rooms & pool towels. very comfortable and regal. Buffet breakfast excellent in one of the state rooms, dinners also good and the bar is inexpensive in a palatial room with balcony & snooker table. a 1920s lift takes you upstairs where there are extensive balconies. Room service v good. Its 25min walk into town but there is transport easily available for RS80. This is one of the nicest places I have stayed at in India; Stayed for a week & after visiting Sriranngapatna, Shravanabelgola, Halebid & Koorg, I went back for another week; it was such a treat. If you are near in the south, detour to ensure you take the opportunity to stay in a palace for a fraction of the cost of other Indian palaces ! Splash out on the heritage rooms at the front of the main building.

We booked an overnight stay at this hotel though was quite skeptical after reading a few reviews in various websites. However it was a totally amazing experience. First of all the weather was great with a mild drizzle now and then, to top it was the royal feeling of staying at a heritage building with rich interiors and antique furniture. We stayed at heritage classic suite which was a huge room with the view of Chamundi hills and the Mysore palace. The room was well equipped with all the necessities, neat and clean however the bathroom with marble tiling and ageold fixtures was a blackdot for this otherwise beautiful place. Food was fairly good and the staff were polite. I would surely recommend this hotel for those who want a royal experience...

What a beautiful building. Understand that this used to be a palace that has now been converted to a hotel. Absolutely mesmerizing and great for a day visit where you can take great photos. The breakfast and food quality were also decent -- so far, so good. However, the room was very unclean - the bed linens, curtains and bathroom looked dirty and stained. Insects were also profuse. The lighting was so low that it made the room look gloomy - think they should work on this. The bed mattress was so high that shorter people actually need a chair to slowly get onto the bed. In the bathroom, there was a "vintage" bathtub that was only for show and not to be used - which is OK, but wish they had cleaned it or covered it under some netting.

We stayed at Lalitha Mahal Palace hoping for a regal escape, but sadly, it felt more like walking through the faded pages of a once-grand story. The heritage charm is undeniable, but the place is in desperate need of revival. The food was underwhelming, amenities were bare minimum, and the overall experience just didn’t live up to the promise. Yes, you get to sleep in a piece of history — but the question is, at what cost? Wouldn’t go back.

Dinner at Lalitha mahal palace is pathetic. Food was cold. Just one starter n all side dishes were tasteless n cold. Dessert was sabudana Payasam! Icecream was so cheap. 5 ppl paid 5k n totally bad experience n waste of money

The traditional ambience of the hotel is great. We will feel like living in the past. The property is great for people loving silence and nature. We could see rabbits hopping around at night from the balcony. Considering amenities and breakfast, there is scope for much improvement. Overall it's a great experience to stay, especially at night.

“Just brilliant” Lalitha isn’t just a hotel, it’s a destination. As a hotel, staff were wonderful, food was great, breakfast a treat, the bar huge, well stocked & reasonably priced. Good sized rooms but treat yourself to a massive heritage room or suite. A pleasure to have a cooling drink on the vast balcony at sunset before strolling down the grand marble staircase to the lofty dining hall for an excellent dinner. The garden and swimming pool were a treat as well as strolling around the manicured formal gardens to the front. The general manager & his staff do a superb job, well done. Don’t miss this opportunity to stay in a palace & be treated like a maharaja ! Treat yourself to the huge duplex room. Or go mad and have the viceroy suite, amazing ! This is a fantastic opportunity for a palatial stupendous environment that will become a rare opportunity unless you’re extremely wealthy. Go for it ! I spent a week here; came back for another week. Loved every minute. Wish I could move in ! Seriously impressed. 27 Jan 2025
