Hotel Urashima

You can choose to either take ferry or 25mins walk to hotel from Kii-katsuura station. They have two outdoor onsens that located in the cave that’s definitely worth trying out.

Thanks a lot for sending our luggage to the room. The scenery is amazing out of the window. However, our request is quite but not corner room which is not achieved.

This is a large hotel, and a lot to explore. Make sure you ask for rooms in the middle - some rooms may have blocked view.

I'm a little bit disappointed considering the price they ask. The only unique benefit of this hotel is the cave onsen, which is amazing. The room seem to have been refurnished a few years ago, so it's only slightly worn. The hallways and common areas however are stuck in the 1960s and smell of aged PVC floor. So if you like japanese retro this is your place. Honestly the cheapness and age of these common areas is unacceptable. They need to urgently renovate these areas, then it would be a very nice hotel. Also the amenities are sparse. There is no welcome drink or complementary drink bar, compared to almost every other japanese Hotel.

I'm a big fan of onsen hotels and tried almost 10 different onsen hotels so far in Japan and this one is definitely the biggest one, even though its not that Japanese style and a bit old overall. The cave onsen (it has 2) is awesome!!! And have a deck to see sunset and ocean view. The turtle boat is cute.
