An excellent experience if you want the simple Tulou experience, living like a local in a proper village. The owner was also super nice and helpful when I got lost or needed to get somewhere. I highly recommend it for the adventurous types.

Cool spot to stay in a tulou. The owners are friendly and cook food as well. Be aware that there is no toilet in the room or on the floor, you have to go to the public toilets outside. In a good location with some shops nearby and not far from the bus stop

Fun experience staying in a tulou! As the listing says, it's a shared bathroom outside the tulou structure and a plastic bucket outside your room if you need to pee in the middle of the night and don't want to go out far. Bring your own toilet paper and soap just in case they've run out in the shared bathrooms. The room itself was nice and ours on the top floor had a window. Power and wifi worked great. The hostess was super kind and brought us to our room, made sure we could find our way back, and offered us tea. I'd recommend for the unique experience!

I had a fantastic experience sleeping in a little room on the top floor of one of the world heritage listed 'tulou' at Tianluokeng, specifically Wenchang Lou. It was a very authentic experience with villagers going about their daily business while catering to overnight and daytrip visitors too. I was well looked after in every respect, including dinner and breakfast.

This is a unique experience for those wishing to stay in a traditional tulou. The rooms were clean and simple, and the residents of the tulou friendly and welcoming. The shared toilet facilities are outside the building, and there is a bucket outside each room for use at night time. You can eat inside the tulou for dinner and lunch or there are a few other options in the Tianluokeng village. A beautiful setting and a very memorable experience.

Visited my ancestral traditional living squatters built as a consolidated united community for better living environments and survival. There are still many families living in the tulou. Main business is agriculture and tourism. The roads leading to the tulou are made up of irregularly shaped stones. As such, it’s not easy to pull the big luggage along (few hundred metres walk). Recommend to carry backpacks for short stays, leave the big luggage at the tourists centre. Good experience to live together with friendly people whom I can practice my Hakka. They also provide home-cooked meals, reasonable prices. Good food.

We had a ton of fun. Yes, you have to do some planning around bathroom trips, but that's part of the experience.

The stay was amazing and the room is very clean! It is a worthy experience to stay in nature this way. Don’t worry about the toilet not being in the room. The owners are very welcoming and caring and make delicious food.

Really nice stay. The boss was helpful and I felt like at home. Very interesting to stay in the tulou. Summer can be hot with no air conditioning, but there is a fan in the room.
