The location is lovely (you need a car to get here) and the hotel is mostly luxurious feeling. Many locations to relax around the pools, which are nice. Best “all you can eat”/buffet style food service I have had, though overall no meal was particularly memorable. Choice of many pillows/mattress toppers to ensure comfort, which I appreciated, air-con in room worked nicely, large rain shower. I went for the transformational program, but I don’t feel it was anything more than a regular spa package that included room/board. My treatments/classes were spread out which actually was more stressful because I had to be in one place, then wait, then have another 1-2 hours later, or have a massage right before dinner which you then have to dress up for, which I find inconvenient. I should have just booked the room and then several spa treatments when I wanted them. It was overall hard to relax and feel rejuvenated, so it did not meet my expectations for a “transformational” experience. A little more explanation on how to use facilites for people who don’t use saunas/know customs (many guests are from countries where sauna-ing is a custom) would be nice. Things I noticed that made it less pleasant: there was minimal or no fan/air conditioning during dinner, which was inside, and it’s summertime so both hot/humid making dinner unpleasant. Also, water was free from a machine during breakfast/lunch, but you had to buy bottled for dinner which seems petty for an already very expensive stay. Lastly, it’s very off putting that guests are allowed to smoke at the pool/on their patios. As a place for health/wellness, your guests should have to smoke off premises, as others may not want to smell smoke from the next door patio/next to them at the pool.
